Guest Anonymous
Ugh, this is ridiculous. Again, SBG made an ass of himself, I corrected him, and he banned me as thanks for it. He's going to be in such shit from KohnMan.
Guest Anonymous
And someone has flamed me in a thread to which I can't reply. Oh how very brave. I'm sick and tired of these dim-witted fuckers. Please Join NR Central.
Guest Anonymous
It's a shame, is this your own forum Nren? I'm kinda guessing it is since Nren would kinda make sense being NeoRenegade!
mAjEsTiC
NRen2k5 i seriously don't know y they can't c that u r allowed to express ur opinions on the forums anyway u like...being banned just 4 correcting someone seems a bit harsh... Guest Anonymous
Well, I do tend to be abusive when they ignore/contradict me on factual issues. Like SBG. He doesn't know about lossy compression; he can't even distinguish between a codec and a bitrate. And when I correct him, he goes into a tirade about me being anti-MD. Uh, yeah, sure, I'm anti-MD; that's why just two weeks ago I spent the equivalent of $100usd on minidisc gear.
Guest Anonymous
I mean, y'know... how can you tolerate something like that?
8
Hi, Ren, this is newwave8 from the T-Board. I'm not afraid to speak my mind to anyone (as you assumed), so I wanted to respond. Hey, I may not agree with some of your opinions, but I totally support your being allowed to express them. HOWEVER, when someone disagrees with you, you insist on thinking that you're the only one that's right, and then you go into personal attacks on people, which is very childish. Right in this thread, you said SBG doesn't know what he talking about...well, right or wrong, he's allowed to express his opinion. If you want people to respect your opinions, you have to be able to tolerate theirs (instead of simply saying "Up Yours" and other types of insults to someone, like you did on the T-Board). ...and again, case and point: right in this thread, you go on to call certain people "dim witted *****".....for which I'm disappointed in the moderators here for allowing.... The major argument I saw was when you were comparing ATRAC before you even listened to it, and I don't know how you can form an opinion about something before you have any first hand experience. IMO, that was a ligitimate argument by Mystyler. That's really all I have to say. If you want to throw out some more childish rips at me, then go for it, I really don't care. I just wanted to voice my opinion on this whole thing, because I think it's ridiculous that you've taken personal shots at people on the T-Board, been banned twice, and then post on here about how unfair it is. Anyway, that's it for me. Say what you will (or rip however you want), I'm done. Rock on.
Guest Anonymous
There's a point when it's no longer expressing opinion but rather being a chump. Perceptual coding as used in audio format like MP3 or ATRAC does its job by throwing out the sound that we can't hear. You don't need to give either format an in-depth examination. It's simply the way they work. It's ludicrous for SBG to insist time and again that ATRAC is better than CD. Either he gets a kick out of lying, or he doesn't know how to read. All he has too do is Google "SP", "ATRAC", and "listening test" or "ABX" and the evidence is there that ATRAC is not the king of audio formats. That said, I hope I don't get any flak, because I'm aware that this sort of thing often rubs off as an anti-MD rant... at least to people like SBG. I have nothing against ATRAC, I just need to point out time and again that it's not light-years ahead of MP3. Another thing; making blind claims is bad for one's image. I don't make blind claims; I have HydrogenAudio as my source.
Guest Anonymous
Who really cares, when you already re-registered as 'NeoRenegade' on T-Board? You got banned, boo hoo. You just don't/didn't know when to shut up, so now you're complaining? Ugh, this is ridiculous. Again, SBG made an ass of himself, I corrected him, and he banned me as thanks for it. He's going to be in such shit from KohnMan. Heh. In your little world, perhaps. Guest Anonymous
Hey NRen2k5, Nice to see you've found somewhere you can express your opinions without any punishment. If I could actually be in the same town as you are, right now, I'd ram your new N505 up your ass. Your final blow was when you said I knew nothing about lossy formats. I do pride myself on knowing a *lot* about MiniDisc (afterall, I am a Mod over at the T-Board!), maybe not as much about mp3, but I do know that those awful-sounding compressed mp3 files are no match for MD. I'd even acknowledge you can hear the difference. Your numerous anti-MD tirades got the best of the Mods and many T-Boarders (like those who have posted in this thread), especially me. I mean, come on, the T-Board is a MiniDisc forum; blowing off about mp3 over there was like pouring gasoline on a raging inferno. Stupid. Dumb. What can I say? I do hope you learn to appreciate the MD format, in time. No hard feelings but you got what you deserved.
Guest Anonymous
Give this anti-MP3 crap of yours a rest, SBG. MP3 does not sound like crap. Moreover, I don't claim that Minidisc sounds like crap. I haven't claimed so since the first time you banned me from the T-boards. Lately, I've merely been correcting your mistakes (MD is better than CD, MP3 is crap, etc.). ATRAC sounds good, like MP3. It's just that there are better codecs out there. Anyway, you had your way - you kicked me off the T-boards again. And I'm staying away this time. Take responsibility for your own happiness. Now, you have no business here, so begone. Guest Anonymous
In its purest forum, CD is better than MD, but ATRAC seems to add an enhancement that makes the little disc sound different and more aesthetically -pleasing, and most would agree with me on that statement. I don't think I ever said MD was better than CD. Anyway, I'll stand by my comments that mp3 is inferior to MD, particularly comparing it to SP. I see you make liberal use of French, seeing you're from Quebec. No wonder most of the rest of Canada looks down upon you stupid people if you're representative of the culture.........
Guest Anonymous
Listen, I'm not arguing this shit anymore. MP3 is a better compression method than ATRAC, and there's no two ways of looking at it. I respect your opinion on ATRAC's transformation of its sound. So, it sounds pleasant. It's not as faithful to the original as MP3, but at least it sounds "good" to many. But for chrissakes, stop kicking me around and banning me from the T-board because you can respect neither the facts of the matter nor my opinions. I see you make liberal use of French, seeing you're from Quebec. No wonder most of the rest of Canada looks down upon you stupid people if you're representative of the culture.Be glad I'm an anglophone, because if I was French I would be really insulted by this display of prejudice, contempt and ignorance. Guest Anonymous
It's obvious we both have our biases towards our favourite formats, and we both have good points. The mp3 format is for the masses, with all those pirated downloads and poplularity of various portable devices, such as iPods. I suppose it's handy to have one's entire musical library in a small package, as long as there are no crashes. Pity that most mp3's that are downloaded are of poor quality, due to bitrate. I imagine the 'audiophile' oriented mp3 lover (like yourself) only picks the ones with the highest possible bitrates. Most of the mp3 world is listening to crap, IMHO. I don't know if the average MD user has it a lot better, with the Net MD platform and no true SP mode. I maintain the MiniDisc format is superior as a recording/editing medium, a point even you would probably agree on. Sorry for any remarks made about the good people in Quebec, but there's no need to use foul language on *any* forum; it simply indicative of your mentality. Your bannishment for the T-Board kingdom will be permanent unless you're willing to humble yourself and not make so many anti-MD remarks and openly attack Mods. We know you have a wealth of audio-related knowledge that could be utilized by many on that discussion form. Have a good holiday weekend. But, yeah, I try to get the best MP3 files I can. And I wholeheartedly agree that 95% of the MP3 masses have their heads up their rear-ends. I don't know if the average MD user has it a lot better, with the Net MD platform and no true SP mode. I maintain the MiniDisc format is superior as a recording/editing medium, a point even you would probably agree on.Here again I must agree on both points. NetMD users aren't much different from the MP3 users who choose to use MusicMatch or RealOne. And there most certainly is not an MP3 player that comes close to the recording quality of the high-end MD units. Sorry for any remarks made about the good people in Quebec, but there's no need to use foul language on *any* forum; it simply indicative of your mentality. Have a good holiday weekend.Apology accepted; sorry for my language in the anti-JVC post (I was really steamed); I can totally respect you, however I'd like to ask you to please cut me a little slack as far as being pro-MP3 goes... I will not attack you or other mods; thank you and have a good weekend yourself. My apologies if this post is a little difficult to read - I'm a bit buzzed off of fortified beer right now. Anyway, catch ya later. Again, take care and have a good weekend.
