I am administrator and my kids are users. The problem is the software wont run in a user invironment, only an administrator environment. I want the users to be able to use the mini disc software without logging in as admin or being made admin. The idea is that ony admin people can install and administer the PC. I do not want the users to be able to install or mes th PC up. ruxton28 Posted December 12, 2003 Author Report Share Posted December 12, 2003 I called them and the guy said it does exactly what it says in the manual. Sure enough on page 93 there it is. " you have to log in as admin or power user to use the software" I told him this was outrageous and he was quite abrupt. You should be able to run software as a user. I tried right clicking on the sonic stage folder and making it shared but it still doesnt work. I asked the guy what do I do to prevent my kid messing my pc up now he has admin rights and he wasnt interested :x Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

mAjEsTiC Posted December 12, 2003 Report Share Posted December 12, 2003 not too sure...i don't think there is a way to change the permission setting so that the user can have admin access to get SonicStage up and running and still resticted to being a user access levels.... Im not sure about permissions setting in XPI haven't tried this as a user, but you can try to see if they can burn MD's through Real One player. I use Real One to make my disc's as I don't have to worry about checking the files in and out. The only thing is they won't be able to create groups through Real One, you will either have to do it with Sonic Stage for them or they can do it on the MD player themselves.
