So I'm tempted to grab this whenever I find one in Canada but would love to hear about it's selling points and what not. I doubt I'll record anything as I'm not a musician and I hear the radio is rather choppy. If anyone has purchased one I'd love to hear how it works!

I also have an mz-n10, and to this day it's still the most beatiful thing I,ve seen. OK, back to the topic. None of the units are released so any responses are built solely on specs. I haven't really payed much attention to the nh 600, so don't take my opinion to heart. It's definitely not the prettiest of the bunch, but who gives a f--k. It has no remote, that is a positive if you look at it right. No remote means you have all the options and functionality on the unit itself. If you are looking to spend as little as possible, I say get it. If you have the money, get either the nh900 or nh1. They both have a hd digital amp that will increase your listening plaesure. That itself justifies the jump in cost. Again, this is just my opinion and think you should read more about all the units and decide whats right for your needs/wants.

im not buying the 600. i currently use the n510, and i use the recharger in it everyday. saved me about 100 dollars now smile.gif to hear that theres no AC adapter plugin is so dumb to hear. a 300 dollar walkman, and no adapter. it like, "to play music, you must always constantly be buying batteries" I plug my minidisc in at work and play from that. im moving on up to the nh700 (if its available in canada, that is.

Rechargeable batteries aren't so expensive, if that's a make-or-break point.

Hate to be a spoilsport, but I think it's a waste of time deciding now whether or not to buy a certain Hi-MD model. Wait until they've been released, and a few reviews come in.

yes, they're extremely cheap, once you consider the lifetime of them compared to the lifetime of dry akalines... thats the make or break point for me.  kind of like gas milage.  that infulences what car i would buy.

What I mean is, you can buy rechargeable AA batteries, even if the 600 doesn't have a built-in recharger. Maybe the external recharger will cost $10 or $20?

Yeah, I'm kinda trapped between the impatience and the model I really want (the '900). I was disappointed to find that the 600 doesn't have any input except the USB port. However, in its favor, it IS a Hi-MD unit, and I sure could use the extra storage (a gigabyte for three bucks??), and I could get a jump on a few mix discs I have in mind.

I just fell into an N10, though, and the 600 looks like a cemet block next to it. Eh. If I stay undecided long enough, I won't have to worry about it.

Well nothing very convincing yet. Majors cons stated so far:

-clunky compared to n10

-no ac adapter or ports except for usb

-no digital amp

Haven't found any reviews yet sad.gif has anyone taken the leap and bought one? Are we sure the higher end models will really be all that better in dimensions?

bought one. feels cheap. i suspect that the silver will wear off soon.

on the plus side - I like the volume control.

I suspect taht I will do with this what i did with my Net-MD units. Use the cheap unit as something that is connected to the computer full time. and I will be purchasing a fancier unit later on for portability.

hmm...i was all hyped when the 600 bus but cheups that was just thoughless hype...all in all i would never purchase an all plastic unit altho i'm a wee bit dissapointed in the NH900 being made outa plastic/aluminum i think it's too expensive n too high a model to b like that cuz being all aluminum would make it ultimate n there's just too many reasons to get one.. ..i'm gonna love that jog dial..u know when MZR 700/G750 came out the control pad looked like it could navigate cheups...NOT!!! but this i'm gonna love.. light weight..n pretty smooth on the edges compared to the MZNF810 which felt nice but was just a lil too rough on the edges...damn talk about this damn anticipation...first spring now summer..if it goes onto fall.....i just don't know what i'd do cuz right now i'm just just just just...........n what's even less impressive bout units nowadays is they don't make them like they used 2..it was the lower ranking models that had poor battery life ...now it's a complete reverse ( n have u noticed how SONY Disc man have outa this world battery life on NIHM or NICD n they keep getting better..what's happening to MDs..) ne way..
