Valder
I need more Hi-MD Discs! Finally decided to open up the 600D and load up the disc that came with it. Was able to get all my fav Tull and Rush albums on there as well as the Goo Goos, Rammstein, Gabriel and Talking Heads. Plus it was great to get 5 full Symphonies from Dvorak and Bruckner on one 74min regular old minidisc. Nice! Now where are the discs? Valder

doclloyd
If you really need Hi-MD discs, Sony is selling them on their website now. Get the three pack here: http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP....2f3KIT&Dept=acc
Valder
Nah I don't need them that bad. I had to go pick up some film (yes film) so I went to WalMart and saw they had the spot ready for Hi-MDs at 3 for $9.99. Now that will be sweet. I guess my 70+ unopened MDs will be relegated to HiFi duty on the Pioneer Elite MJ-17D recorder with copying my Albums (Vinyl..yes). Hey I'm old still doin the film thing and vinyl thing with a bit of digital thrown in for good measure. AMPlitudeHD
just wait for the discs to go mainstream and continue to use the old discs, as they should be adequate for now...
StingerDL
I went to WalMart and saw they had the spot ready for Hi-MDs at 3 for $9.99. Now that will be sweet. I noticed that also this past weekend, I just hope it means that they are getting them soon. The price does look too good to be true. Latexxx
I noticed that also this past weekend, I just hope it means that they are getting them soon. The price does look too good to be true. Those are probably only standard MD discs with a sticker or packaging which says Hi-MD compatible (as are all standard MD discs). A440
BTW, the Sonystyle site no longer lists the discs as available. And yes, Sony is now packaging all the old discs as Hi-MD Compatible. Kind of reminds you of "digital-ready" headphones, doesn't it?
Valder
Yes this is an old thread....I thought it long dead. But still where are the blanks?! Valder
jadeclaw
Europe around x-mas shopping season ~ November-December.(tentative). USA: On sale in homeopathic doses, you need a good nose to find them... ----------------------------------------------------------------- And yes, Sony is now packaging all the old discs as Hi-MD Compatible. Kind of reminds you of "digital-ready" headphones, doesn't it?Old memories come up, in the sixties when colour tv started here, electronic stores actually tried to sell 'colour tv antennas' - despite the fact, that the old one was good enough... Valder
Sony is probably just seeing if they can actually sell these Hi-MD units in the USA and then deciding if they want to give us blanks in any quantity. Valder
vova
SOny most probably still trying to work out the bugs in the blanks production line, so they are making lots and lots of duds for now
