homer666
Im going on holiday to america in a few weeks, and wondered if it would be possible to purchase a Hi-MD player over there and then bring it back to England and use it. I know they aren't going to be available over here for a little while longer yet and thought i might be able to save some money. Cheers
Christopher
Possibly. I can't determine if most models will be available in common retail and electronic stores, but by the time you're here it's a good possibility. What you may want to do is order the unit from a US e-tailer and have it shipped to where you're staying [if possible]. Welcome, btw.
Fast Eddie
Amazon UK are quoting August 5th for the 600 and 800 models.Although this could change and I suspect it will. Since I couldn't wait, (and wouldn't use the optical line in) I've ordered a 600D from the US, and hopefully should have it by next week. camille
hello, i'm also thinking of buying MD in US (nh900) - i live in poland. do you maybe know if this supplied sony ac adapter is for input 100-240? and does it really mean that i will be able to use it with my unit only changing a plug (from american to polish) and without 220>110 converter? thx, c. AMPlitude
most of the hi-mds are basically readily available for purchas in select locations, but you'll have to go do some serious window to window shopping before finding exactly what you need if its high-end you're looking for in a md hint- new york tends to stock more of these, i should know, i live here
reefbeef
I ordered mine from NYC (Datavis), blanks from Brooklyn (etronics). I'd suggest researching online for prices and addresses before you go. Maybe printout some of the lowest quoted prices. You shouldn't have a problem finding in NYC, but prepare yourself for bargaining with hardened New York retailers...

IMHO warning Only European/non-American versions have 100 V -240 V power adaters. American versions only like 110 V current. So, you need a voltage converter.
