ss isn't that hard at all, i have had no problem with sony software, it put the music onto ur player, very simple and easy to use
-
i agree with Rob A on this one, go for atrac3 or atrac3 plus
-
rocklegend NW-A3000 isn't a bad player, many people have brought this when it was released, there were many posts where people gave many good comments on the A1000/1200/3000 player definitely, it's just people may like different things, i agree with stuge on his comment about Atrac3plus 128kpbs
-
sony is still the one, lovely design and great sound quality, nice battery juices too, plus A800 has got other functions too now, light and small, if u don't like the ex phone that they give u along with the player, u can always get a better earphones, overall A800 beats iriver
-
phone is still just a phone, MP3 is a music player, plus it's a sony, sound quality 100% number one
-
ipod can not compare to the design and sound quality of walkman, however ipod has the itune which is easier than sony software, we have heard plenty of complaint over sony software, however right now do we have a choice? plus this forum is a sony fan base, we also have heard plenty of people saying that it has improved, whether u find it easy or nightmare nobody can promoise, good luck, i personally can use the software without any problem
-
from last year posts, some people said that the first option is too tight for the player, u can go through the forum and find the post, i go for 2

hi there in the review section GQ smooth and other helpful people have talked about the NW-A800 series with very detailed reviews, this is definitely the walkman, SS4.3 will be alright, charger i suppose it's alright too, but lulu has also reviewed the player and other devices, the reviews provide anything that u wanna know before u buy it, of course some people are still waiting for new DAP

http://www.atraclife.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3575, it will be on sale soon, but China has not shown the price yet. China Sony potrays this as a MP4 kind of like PSP but without game function, the sound quality is great for NW-A800 series, the P series is very good for visual entertainment, then again u can argue that u want the PSP instead, for M70 u can use MS to increase the storage up to 32 GB (this was talked about on a China bbs), lyrics and subtitles for ur songs and movies are there, plus other functions that normally come with a MP4, i have found some pictures on two P series players control, PMX-M70, PMX-U50

i have read some review from australia site, it was about a different walkman, same thing basically they just wanted to review NW-A800, but it turned out to be a pure comparison bewteen A800 and ipod family. The result is on many features the review said that yes A800 beats ipod nano, but on those features the review also pulled out ipod 30GB player to further compare with NW-A800, so either way the review made ipod a better choice over NW-A800....so they needed to pull the whole ipod family out to have a go at NW-A800, conclusion of course they suggested people probably will go for ipod not NW-A800.....

LG mate thanks for ur price update, the price is actually 8GB for 499 AUD, 4GB 399 AUD and 2GB 299AUD, http://www.sony.com.au/walkman/catalog/pro...ategoryId=30333 they have put info for A800 series on offical site for sometimes now, when i passed by sony central, i had a check, they also sell 8GB for 499 AUD and etc, it is better to get on ebay or there are always other countries to go for, since canada, japan and hongkong they sell for around 300 to 350 AUD another link of A800 from Sony australia http://www.feeleverysound.com/

good decision for u, u will definitely enjoy it once u buy it, i read reviews from GQ smooth and shinji, they have talked about just how powerful this player can be, jrome good points on the Sony player, that's why we are all here to choose Sony
-
NW-A800 i mean it's perfect, well so far there is nothing can beat this precious thing, design is better than ipod, sound quality is better than ipod, earphones beats ipod, the way u can choose ur music and find them are so easy, one day u suddenly feel like watching something on it, well then u can, 10/10 for the NW-A800 definitely compares to ipod. plus the fact millions of people have a ipod, i mean that's just following the trend, i even heard ipod users e saying ipod has good sound quality, sony is crap because it has all funny things inside to change sound quality......i mean i would say ipod users don't know what sound quality is, those whatever funny things are new innovations from Sony, such as Sony has clear bass, clear stero etc well they are here to let u enjoy as close to a original quality of the music as u can, so go for Sony, that let u respect ur beloved music more

HD5 is definitely the choice, but HD1 like other people have mentioned, it's not bad at all. I have read before some reviews on HD1, so i attached them, maybe u already know about these facts, either way u are buying a good player From its greenish backlighting and the familiar font labeling its tiny buttons to its sleek, metal-and-plastic casing, there is no doubt that the Network Walkman NW-HD1 is a Sony product. At 3.5 by 2.5 by 0.6 inches and 3.9 ounces, the 20GB HD1 is much smaller than the iPod and breaks the mold with a style and philosophy all its own. The player is set up by pressing Menu, but holding the Menu button turns the player off, and no, this wasn't clear at the outset. The menu includes Repeat, various Play modes (Shuffle, 1 Track, Play Unit), Sound, AVLS, Beep, Audio Out, Contrast, Backlight, Reverse Display, and Format controls. Play Unit simply means that all tracks within a selected artist or album will be played. Sound includes the EQ settings (four presets and two custom) and V-Sur virtual environments such as Studio, Live, Club, or Arena. The HD1 boasts bright and powerful sound quality despite the fact that MP3 files were converted to the ATRAC3 format. The various EQ and virtual surround settings are also top-notch, and users can really crank up the volume. One of the HD1's bona fide selling points is its rated battery life of 30 hours. CNET Labs was able to best that figure with 30.6 hours in its drain test. Over USB 2.0, transfer times were equally impressive at 8.3MB per second. However, the same 100MB of MP3 tracks took a pathetic 0.06MB per second--nearly 27 minutes--to complete a dual transcode-and-transfer process. http://shopping.msn.com/Specs/shp/?itemId=24759638 http://reviews.cnet.com/mp3-players/sony-n...7-30959614.html

Hi mate i would say that maybe u can ask how much it costs to repair it in ur country, if u think that's too much and of course u just don't want to go to that path, then u can buy another player since u need ur music. There are great ones out on the market, u can get online maybe previous series of hard disk player, or maybe NW-A800, really depends on whether u think it's worthy enough to stay or let it go
-
love these colors, black and purple are really nice ones, silver one is also attractive
-
well these two players are actually only for China, i think we should conclude this post with comments like such: A series is definitely about music, it has all of ur expected sony features, which u will not find in other players on the market. The P series is for China only, since that's the plan made by Sony that they will invest a customize line of devices just for China. People from this forum to be honest are much more smarter and insightful than people who work in Sony shops, if u come here and read something, u will know what to buy. Therefore i think P series is really just a additional reading articles for us to enjoy, it doesn't mean anything cause nobody can really buy it and alot of people have their other favourite as well. So P series will be trying hard to win China over, money to be more precise is what Sony after, they try to convice China don't go for ipod, hopefully Taiwan and Hongkong will support Sony more than ipod as Sony does promote in those areas too. P series is really for video, they were designed after Sony did survey in China, cause they really have a MP4 war going on there right now, if they can't win in Western countries (miss the boat)....well may as well try to earn some money with other possible markets.

fair comment rocklegend, certainly with a player it has plus and minus. I found out many reviews on Sony HD5, A series, S series and E series ect in Chinese review sites. It seems that their reviews favour Sony products over Ipod definitely. So if they did write about these long reviews about products' quality, appearance and comparison with other brands, they will write it on the P series as well, so that once they do talk about it, i can translate and add it onto the review section of the forum. China definitely said NW-A800 is more of a music player and will not disappoint u with all those three technologies put in. They do show the P series as a visual+music player, well it's kind of messy in China right now for the portable audio, people still look for a good player, different brands still try to convice the market that they are the one, there is no real leader yet. So it's a good chance for Sony to gain the profit through A and P series. I will wait to see what their workshop says about P series
-
hi mate i really like the PMX-M70 player, the prices for P series Sony said it will be moderate level, not very expensive (still don't know how much if they don't give a figure), they released three articles on these players today, so i got them from the China offical site, hopefully more news and info. On the note of sound quality, it seems from the descriptions, they put something else into the P series to suit the fact that it is highly powerful for watching videos, but at the same time offering u the quality that Sony is famous for, those terms i just couldn't get around. But with each link u can press and at least check the players out, they did it well, P series will be released soon, who knows there should be sites which sell stuff from China, that's one way of buying it

http://www.sony.com.cn/electronics/P_audio/mp4/listxl.asp this is the site which Sony china will release A and P series together at June. Japan Sony said this is a historical event because they put two series together and sale three of them together in the same time. While they waited until June to do this. So it's like Japan and China's effort and design together built their first try in the MP4 market. They now put China as their first target market, while Chinese market is not so taken by Ipod yet, because of 13 billions people in the country, therefore the Mp3/MP4 market is very diverse and ipod has not taken the percentage yet. good luck to Sony and also hopefully they can at least keep asia market strong M70 http://www.sony.com.cn/electronics/P_audio/M70/outward.asp U50 http://www.sony.com.cn/electronics/P_audio/u50/moving.asp

Sony will release NW-A800 PMX-M70 PMX-U50 MP4 players in china during June. I read this from offical Sony China, pardon my translation accuracy, but i will try to summarize the three articles regarding these three new MP4 players. Sony officals announced in Beijing on 15/05/2007 that Sony is ready to enter the MP4 market with its three new brand players (yes about time). the NW-A800 series will not be strange to people in this forum since some of us already have purchased it. The other two Mp4 players are the P series, which are designed by Chinese Sony team, they used the concept of oriental visual design to make the player slim, small with big functions (like how the NW-A800 is). They also made the BRAVIA T series and the previous P series (P series is only released in China, cause Sony said P series is customized portable devices designed especially for Chinese market). i just translate what i read, I will attach these pictures as well, also the photos of officals meeting in Beijing. In the report, Sony explained the NW-A800 is a player which is designed in a small and compact style and also it has video streaming and photo storage functions. I won't go talking about this player anymore, cause we already have too many reviews on this For the PMX-M70 player, it has 4.3 inches sreen (twice the size of the NW-A800), on the front of the player, it doesn't have any buttons, just purely a large and pleasurable screen ready to show u whatever that u wanna play. Buttons are along the sides. It supports MP3, WMA and ACC formats etc. It has TFT screen to compete with the clarity and the picture of DVD quality. 16:9(480×272), U can watch just about anything on this even AVC(H.264/AVC)Baseline Profile. For the music need, (Normal/Pop/Rock/Classic/Jazz/Bass) are some choices, also some other new sound technologies which i don't know how to translate into offical terms, hopefully when they update the info, they can provide the english terms. It can also record movies, tv shows, drama. It has microphone, u can record cds straight into the player via cable, just fully drag and drop for music and other files. Also it has hidden stand behind the player, so u can put it on the table and enjoy with the stero sound built in the player. Memory stick can be used with this player to expand more possibilities (Memory Stick Pro Duo, Memory Stick Duo), u can read the files which are saved on the MS and also use MS to increase the storage of the device, u can upgrade the player urself. It has three different storage sizes, 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, two colors are red and black. 16.7 x 74.4 x 12.7 mm, 129 grams in weight. 20 hours of the music play and 5 hours video playback. Prices will be shown soon For the PMX-U50 Sony made it so that it is the slimmest player yet to be sold in the market (6.9mm VS 8.3mm of NW-A800). u can view pictures, slide shows, listen to fm radio, u can use the in built microphone, notepad function and read documents or novels. It has 2.4 inches TFTT screen. Fully drag and drop for all files. This player is designed by emphasising on the comfort and easy of use. Sound quality and the technologies are all pretty same with other two players. 512MB, 1GB, 2GB, 4GB are the storage sizes with three different colors. 68.3 x 86.4 x 6.8 mm 68 grams in weight. 12 hours battery life for music play and 5 hours for video playback Along with the three MP4 players which will be released in China at the same time, also four different types of bluetooth devices will also be released to go along with the MP4, two new types of noise cancelling earphones will also be out in the market.

mate there are many reviews in that review section, they provide plenty of information from inside to outside, if u read them i am sure u will make up ur mind, i think this site provides more information than those so called sale assistants from shops
-
they are saying the right stuff, indeed it's not the same kind of stuff, if se phone music playing quality can be better or same else a mp3 player, then i guess we wouldn't be here talking so much about just sony mp3, there are many features and technologies which are evident in a mp3, but the phone is really just a phone, like it's better than other phones which can play music, but it can't compare to sony mp3, if u don't need much, then i guess a phone will do the job, but if u really want the best quality and function, grab all these NW-A series, E, Sseries etc

NEED NW-HD5 (will settle for HD3 or HD1 if I have too)
gotthat replied to RobA's topic in Classifieds
190 is a good price for hd5, plus hd5 is very impressive
