Hi, I have installed SonicStage 4.3 long time ago at a particular PC, but haven't used the program for quite a while Recently, I tried to reinstall SS4.3. I read the SS FAQ which gives instruction to uninstall all OpenMG software. I have uninstalled SS4.3 but cannot uninstall other OpenMG components such as OpenMG Secure Module and OpenMG Limited Patch. [The PC hangs and I just have to interrupt it.] I tried to proceed to install SS4.3 anyway but the process hangs when installing OpenMG Secure Module stage. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here??

You can transfer videos onto A90x by drag and drop. No need the image converter which I never used it anyway.

You don't believe it?? But Sony IS doing it now for the NW-A910, NW-S710 series. Japanese menu, asia-pacific SS, Japanese version of Windows..... If Sony continue this trend, then of course, NW-A82x will be of no difference. So, make sure you are prepared to deal with all that before you got one.

lol, I'd never use the word 'logic' to describe Sony - 'ridiculous' and 'stupid' are much more suitable for them.

The problem is S70x requires SS to make AAC gapless and Sony also drops SS. But unfortunately looks like the majority hate SS and the majority don't care gapless. So, the minority like me who cares gapless always suffer. I agree sooner or later I will have to move on...

Thanks, not quite sure how the last part of not effecting iTunes work as I cannot find the setting that seems to do the job, but anyway it doesn't bother me as I unlikely will use this function

I've read that SS may not import the idtags properly for MP3 ripped by iTunes. Is that correct? How about if I import the MP3 into SS and made some amendments within SS (like change of album names), would such info be carried over to iTunes after importing into iTunes (and subsequently iPods)??

Press pause button to stop playback and it will turn off automatically after a few seconds. In other words, you cannot turn it off manually.

@k30248 Can you kindly check and confirm if this player display menu settings other than Japanese? There has been reported elsewhere (but not confirmed by members of this forum) that this player can only have Japanese menu. If true, then it may be only the Japanese SS can detect this player, and it may be the reason why other members like karenb have problems in installing the software onto non-Japanese version of windows. BUT this seems contrary to your experience. Geez, it seems Sony is so determined to dump Sonicstage and ATRAC that not only they don't release any new ATRAC players outside Japan, but also make sure ppl outside Japan have no interest to import them (unless you understand Japanese) by making the menu Japanese only.

Yes, gapless playback on A80x is only for ATRAC.

This is ridiculous but not really totally surprised knowing this is Sony we are talking about. So Sony is very determined to ditch SS and ATRAC outside of Japan. Not only they don't offer any of their new ATRAC players but they also make sure we don't want to import them by offering only Japanese menu. BTw, Happy New Year to all.

As much as I agree with your view, I guess most ppl doesn't really need gapless playback as they tend to listen to tunes by songs rather than by albums. Geez, some ppl don't even know what is gapless.

The price isn't bad for you (and possibly those from Europe, Aus and probably the rest of the world except US and HK) cos of the strong currency rates of CAD for the past months. I mean the CAD must have increased exchange rates with USD by some 15% for the last 2 months or so and still continuing.
