Actually that may not be that far off. I'm fairly sure that when there is a poor signal or interference, setting the audio to Mono reduces that. On the same note, you'd be losing the Stereo signal, so you'd only want to set it to Local (or Mono) if interference is prevalent... On the other hand, why not just name it Mono vs Stereo? =/

*cough* some credit?

Sony USA isn't issuing a press release. The notices were sent Monday so they should be recieved around wednsday, and the website to order the key should be available then. It's either www.updatemytv.com or www.upgrademytv.com (I forget which). This is for Sony USA, I don't have information as to what others are doing. The tv's in question were manufactured between release and november, the serial numbers for which are known so when calling or going on the website you can check if your tv is effected.

Hah this is great, apparently the KDLV--XBR1 and the KDFE--A10 models have some sort of bug in the firmware... After exactly 1200 hours of use the tv will 'freeze up' and it cannot be turned on, or off. The customer has to unplug the tv for 30 seconds to reset it, which would reset the clock back to 0... If a customer is using a CableCard, the CableCard slot is always "active" and the tv is as well, so if a customer has a cablecard, his or her tv will freeze up approximately every 49 days They're sending customers with the affected TVs a USB key with the firmware update for the Bravia models, and a service call for the Grand WEGA models...

arg! *insert profanities here* it gave me that error on upgrading to version 3.4 err... they should really include that as a disclaimer to the upgrade...

...while playing

aww, so it is a white color OLED thats seen through a colored cover? aww, thats no fun
-
does the lid change the color of the OLED screen or is that the OLED screen itself? in the case of the latter, if you change the inner cabinet, and leave the OLED screen, u can get different writing color to player color combination =D (pink writing on blue screen or vice versa? ^^)
-
I did, I get white squares I was thinking its perhaps Sonic stage makin em screwy since it has trouble importing filenames in hebrew... o well, i'll give it another go just to be sure ^^
-
you likely put more than one file in there at a time. Even if you didn't, this worked for me: Delete the folder, disconnect ur player, connect it again, create folder, place legitimate .nwm display screen file in folder, and enjoy ^^
-
u still havent put up a display screen section?
-
although this is a run around and doesnt solve the actual issue, find what criteria it sorts them under, and then use that to rename that particular field of each track so they go in alphabetical (or numerical) order...
-
try disabling norton and any other anti virus programs if that doesn't work, hit ctrl alt delete and go into ur task manager under the "processes", and end any processes that u dont need whose "User Name" is your login (try not to end system processes unless u know what they are and that u dont need them) on a side note, i find it quite amusing the sony vaio is having trouble installing sony software

does this help a not brand new battery as well? like would it set it to its "best" setting?
-
hmm, thats probably right... damn... way to burst my bubble
-
alright, now that i have a bit more time heh... 2nd blue button from the left hand side moves onto the "next frame" (for example, 4 frames total, ur on frame 2, it'll move onto frame 3), or it creates a new frame if ur on the last frame (for example, 4 frames total, ur on frame #4, it'll create a new frame, #5)... using the bar on the top u can move through the frames one by one... 40 frames lasted about 3-4 seconds on the player...
-
actually, that doesnt seem like such a bad idea... i dont think the smart shuffle features and such are hardware dependent... i'm sure some third party could probably create something like this...
-
look in the posted tutorial, it shows u how to create a new frame, u need to create the animation frame by frame (although it says a max of 20, i managed to use 40 and it works fine... maybe its skipping some but its not noticeable) now a question, is there any known way to input player data into the displays? for example the clock2 is based on the actual time, and the rest of the display screens actually feed data off the songs or whatnot to create their screens... is there any way to feed off the data for the custom screens? btw, an idea, we should have a section in the downloads for custom made display screens, would likely add quite a bit of participation in it

Is the NW-E507 unicode capable? Specificly (as I assume this would be a property of unicode...), is it capable of showing hebrew characters? I know Sonic Stage isnt unicode capable, but is the player itself capable? After reading a bit about the connect player, i've been getting the idea that it's unicode capable, although i'm pretty sure it won't work with my E507...
-
quick question, about that Unicode capability, is the E50x series unicode capable? specificly, will it show hebrew? sonic stage cant import hebrew tracks, but would that be somehow possible? ^^
-
arg damn, Sony doesn't have the E30x service manuals up on their internal database, they do for most of their products... sorry guys, i tried ^^ btw, for the manuals, in the US anyway, just call the sony parts department, 1 800 488 7669, all the manuals i've seen thus far are $5.00

i can hear a hiss when the volume is off, not static, but a low hiss is definitely audible... that hiss is gone as soon as volume is above 2 (maybe even at 1, didnt really do much extensive testing) so I dont find it a serious issue, perhaps the hiss ur hearing is more audible and is infact a defect with the unit...
-
Sony manuals usually run for about $5, but they are available online, i should have the link to the E300 service manual sometime today...
-
I know someone who works for Sony, and I can likely get you a link to that service manual if you still need it...
