  1. A Google-search with the partnumber RADPA7057AWZZ of the AC Adaptor (found in the manual) showed me: 5V and what you want to know 800 mA. Jan
  2. Please try this in SonicStage: Tools->Options->Advanced settings->Delete With this command you delete tempory files SonicStage has made during conversions and so on and this can't do any harm to you. If there are none of those files you get a message in SonicStage. May be it is not the solution for your problem and further research is needed.
  3. The least you can try is to optimize the database, sometimes such errors disappear after doing that: Tools->Options->Advanced settings->Optimize In any case doing this don't hurt you, maybe it helps.
  4. I had a working configuration with windows 7 (32 bits) and I upgraded to Windows 10 (32 bits) a few days ago. After this upgrade I could start SS without problems and I tried a MZ-NH600 (HIMD unit) and a MZ-N910 (Net MD), Windows recognized the units and I presume the right drivers were loaded because all is working well. In my case no special action was needed.
  5. I have made some MD and HIMD compilations with a MZ-NH600, no problem at all. Windows 10 installed the drivers and it seems it were the right ones. I also tried a MZ-N910 and it went well.
  6. I don't have a MZ-E10 but you can find a user manual here: http://www.minidisc.org/manuals/sony/sonysite/MZ-E10.pdf And reading this I think your battery is indeed empty and need a charge.

    Vaio Laptop overheating?

I didn't open my laptop, I know the danger of doing that, I used the vacuum cleaner through the ventilation-openings at the bottomside of the laptop, from the outside, and set the vacuum cleaner as strong as possible, so no danger at all.

    Vaio Laptop overheating?

Hello, I had this problem with my Acer laptop, often my laptop was automatic shut down because the temperature was almost 100 degrees C, the cause appeared to be too much dust in the inside. I used a vacuum cleaner on all the ventilation openings to remove the dust as much as possible. This worked very well fo me, the problem did not return. I use Speedfan to control the fan speed and this program shows also the CPU usage and shows the temperatures of the cores and hdd's and so on. You can download this free program from www.almico.com/speedfan.php I hope this helps. Jan
  9. I have three of them, but I use them with the MZ-NH1 and MZ-DH10P.
  10. @punkrockaddict What I wanted to say is that newer stuff is not always better or more convenient than older stuff, the sellers try to get you think it will be better to buy new equipment but sometimes you will be disappointed to experience your old one was better. With "are all gone" I mean they didn't work any longer, regarding my mz-rh1 at first the batterylid broke off, the display got unreadable, the jog-button didn't work any longer the whole displaypart was getting loose and at last I could only display music and not record. So I throw my mz-rh1 in a box full of equipment that was out of order. Regarding my mz-rh10 I was always disappointed with that one because at first I could only read the display in a dark environment and later on the display was unreadable at all and when recording became impossible with that device also the mz-rh10 ended in that box. The mz-rh710 got a number of cracks in the plastic body, the rotary knob did not function and at last also this device could not record anything and ended in the box with defected devices. It looks like I handle my units careless but I don't think so, my oldest (all metal) units have not any sign of use. I didn't try to repair the devices because I had a number of (hi)md devices and I had more than once the idea of stopping with minidiscs and remove sonicstage from my computer and only use my mp3-players, I don't use minidisc for field-recordings or recording concerts, only to listen to music and to download the music to minidisc via sonicstage. But unit now I ended everytime still using my minidiscs as well as my nwz-a15 to listen to music. About a year ago I was spring-cleaning my house and I threw away a lot of things and also the box with defected devices, I regret that now because I could give them away as spareparts but what is done is done. Now my intention is to never buy again a new player and use all my old stuff, minidiscs and mp3-players, untill they are all gone, I am now 67 years old so I think I can use them until the end.
  11. My "newest" (hi-)md portables, mz-rh1, mz-rh10 and mz-rh710 are all gone, my mz-rh910 is usable but the buttons doesn't work properly. My older mz-n700, mz-nh1 and mz-nh600 are okay but my oldest units mz-n1 and mz-n910 are perfect and they look still like new, no plastic bodies. So in time I think the quality is getting worse. I have (or had) a lot of mp3-players but the most of them are gone because of a died battery or defect hard disc and mostly newer units missed some menu options I liked in older ones. I stil have two sansa fuzes and they are fine and my newest one is a Sony nwz-a15 with 16 GB memory and I have a 64 GB Micro SD card inserted and filled them with about 7.000 files (flac and mp3), it is a very good player with very good SQ but I still use more often my mz-n1 and mz-910. Why am I so old-fashioned? They are sturdy build (all metal), replaceble battery and I like to choose what I want to listen to in my boxes with md's, I don't like to scroll through thousands of files, choosing between md's is more comfortable. But I must say the nwz-a15 makes it more difficult to use my md-units because it is a nice player, but I expect my old md-units will live longer.
  12. I have two back-up's on two separate external discs of all my allmost 10000 original ripped and downloaded files (flac's and vbr mp3's) and delete all the intermediate files such as the WMA's and the OMA's produced at transferring to MD. So I can allways follow the traject again if needed and I can transfer the files to other not ATRAC devices. The MD's are so reliable that I seldom need to transfer an album again to MD.
  13. Why not MediaMonkey, it's free. You can import your FLAC's and/or WAV's, select them all and convert these files to WMA lossless with one command. Edit: I just see that I have MediaMonkey Gold, I payed in 2004 $30,00 for a lifetime license. Maybe the batch conversion is only available in the Gold version. I completely forgot I once payed for this license.
  14. The way I follow is: I keep my musiclibrary in MediaMonkey (all tagged) and convert FLAC to WMA lossless in MediaMonkey, which is really fast and the metadata is kept in the WMA-files. Import the files in SS and transfer to MD, Hi-Md or any other atrac-device. I use a special map/directory for the converted files and keep the original FLAC's, after the transfer to MD, Hi-Md or atrac-device I delete the WMA's. I have one step before the import in SS when I want to transfer to MD because I prefer on MD "artistname-title" as title and I use Mp3tag to retitle, Mp3tag works also on WMA-files. I follow this method so that I don't have to title each track in SS.
  15. It was a great pleasure to view and listen to the film. Jan
  16. I tried this on my NW-A805 (is the same as NW-A806) and indeed you can transfer the file with windows explorer. But the file must have the right format (MPEG-4 QVGA(320x240)) and you must create a map on your device named "VIDEO" to contain the videofiles. I always use FormatFactory (is free software) to convert the video to the right format if needed. To test it on my NW-A805 I downloaded a musicvideo from YouTube and converted the downloaded file with FormatFactory to "MP4 320x240 MPEG4" and copied the file with windows explorer to my NW-A805 in the map VIDEO and the video played succesfull. Jan
  17. I found a website where you can download the service manual and on page 17 of that manual I saw that you can set the device in a Special Test Mode and when you cancel that mode the data in RAM will be rewritten and the default setting is STEREO. So may be that is the solution of your problem. The website is: http://elektrotanya.com/yamaha_mdx-595_sm.pdf/download.html
  18. The zip file itself is in the Downloads section under Programs, the name is SonicStage3.4.zip.
  19. @Chris Hi, There is something you can try if you like. Download SonicStage3.4.zip from the download section. Unzip the downloaded file and run SetupSS.exe (SonicStage3.4ss3.4SetupSS.exe). May be this version can install omgjbox.exe and so on. You get an error with the installation of SimpelBurger but that doesn't matter in this case. There is a (little) chance this installation succeeds. Then you can run SetupSS.exe from the SS43_ULTIMATE map, that is the one you have run already a lot of times. You don't need to delete files, an existing version will deleted automatic. I have just done this on my own laptop to test this procedure and had no trouble. I think it is worth a try. Jan
  20. That logfile shows that the SonicStage Update Program is aborted because SonicStage is not installed. It proves that you don't have to search for SonicStage, it is not installed. So the logfile I wanted to see is never produced because the installationstep of SonicStage is not executed. I hoped to see in that (not produced) logfile why that step failed but that part of the installation is almost completely skipped, even the logfile is not there. . I am looking further but it is a difficult problem, hopefully Stephen finds a solution.
  21. That are not the logfiles I mean, can you show SonicStage.log, see above for the complete path. (C:ChrisAppDataLocalTempSsInstallSonicStage.log) That file shows more information.
  22. Hello Chris, If you have no success at all, please do the following. In the map where the downloaded file is unpacked where you see SetupSS.exe there is also a file named SetupSS.ini, edit this file as follows in the SETUP SECTION -SonicStage- you see a line "silent =1" (in the file I have line number 92), change the 1 to 0 (zero), save the file. Then execute SetupSS.exe and show us the resulting logfile: C:ChrisAppDataLocalTempSsInstallSonicStage.log Maybe the silent =0 makes clear what is wrong in your situation. Jan
  23. You're right, I did that too sometimes in fact I made a backup of those maps to use in case of emergency, I thought maybe there is a corrupt file in one of those maps of chris348 and restarting with SS43-ULTIMATE.exe overwrites all those files and then we are sure they are fine.
  24. Hello, Today I did several tests on an old "clean" laptop with Windows XP and on the laptop I daily use (Windows 7). I tried to install SonicStage on the old laptop, which have no internetconnection, the installation was trouble-free. I reinstalled SonicStage on the same laptop without deleting any file at first, the installation was trouble-free. I reinstalled SonicStage on the same laptop after I deleted all related files and after deleting all entries in the registry related to Sony or OMGJBOX and OPENMG, the installation was trouble-free. I reinstalled SonicStage on my laptop I daily use without deleting any file at first, the installation was trouble-free. So my conclusion is that the package in the download section is perfect. Also you don't need an internetconnection during installation. I saw in your logfiles that you tried the installation several times in Windows XP compatibility mode and one time as Windows Vista the OS of your laptop. You tried to install SonicStage via the executable in the map/directory to where the downloadfile is unpacked. Maybe you have checked the compatibility mode in this and perhabs in other executables in that map/directory. My advice is start all over and download SS43-ULTIMATE.exe from the download section (again) and execute the downloaded file without checking the compatibility mode and without changing the defaults, unpacking and installation of SonicStage and related programs normally take place in one run and results in the question to restart the computer. If the installation is still not successful then show your logfiles again. I hope you understand my version of the English language and wish you success. Jan
  25. I bought a dark-blue MZ-NH600 in 2004. I have written hundreds of discs (HI-MD and MD) with this device and he is still going well. Very reliable, it is the only device I use to write my discs and had never a problem. But I think it is a ugly device to look at so I use always an other device to play my discs, mostly MZ-N1 and for the HI-MD discs the MZ-RH910 (nice display). The "cheap" MZ-NH600 is worth its money, my expensive MZ-RH1 never was.
