  1. Yes Steve -- as MDGB2 notes, with Hi-MD you can do completely lossless PCM recording.
  2. Welcome to the forums. Try downloading our Sonicstage 3.2 Full Installer from the Downloads section.
  3. Welcome to the forums. Since this is an issue not relevant to Minidisc whatsoever, I must ask of you to inquire at our sister forum, ATRACLife Colloquium.
  4. Guess we don't watch enough movies here! I saw March of the Penguins over the weekend, it was really amazing. I've never seen a documentary like that before, and the life of the Emperor Penguin is one of the most interesting I've seen out of many in the animal kingdom. I really recommend you guys go check it out and not miss it..
  5. People are playing around with the software trying to get it to work with other models.
  6. I think that optical output is a thing of the past and will be continiously phased out as the years progress. USB and other enhanced data connections allow much greater flexibility in many differing aspects, such as high speed transfer, information retention (DRM, titling, etc), and so forth.
  7. MDX-400's response at the end of that thread pretty much nullifies any concerns, in my opinion. I've quoted it below:
  8. Upon reviewing your pictures -- aesthetically, the 55ELK is the new champion.. What are some good places to obtain the 55ELK? Perhaps that information will help others who are inspired by your pictorial.
  9. Extremely doubtful this will ever occur. You're best to keep with VMware as previously mentioned, but even that in itself isn't too reliable.
  10. Sounds like Google is following the path of Wal-Mart, NH1. Anyone try this program out yet? I'm interested, but their privacy and data collection scares the crap out of me. Anyone remember the Google Accelerator? God knows what they're doing with this.
  11. Stunning, Ishii - instantly one of my favorite pictorials you've done in your tenure here. Your macro photography skills have considerably improved, most likely from all the discs you've been taking pictures of. Where did you purchase this at? What is your favorite remote out of all the ones you own?

  13. I'm the five minute man you speak of. You've taken some good steps here. What kind of hard drive do you have? If it's IDE, then that's a probable bottleneck. I would recommend for superior Sonicstage performance (and a faster computing experience overall) you look into a SATA hard drive. I employ a Maxtor DiamondMax 10 hard drive in a 250gb flavor, and it has a very unique feature not found in hard drives these days -- 16mb cache, compared to the 2-8mb found within the majority of other IDE/SATA drives. I have no doubt this contributes greatly to the speed of my Sonicstage rips. It's possible that your processor is also holding you back. I employ a 2.4ghz Athlon 64 (socket 754) processor and use Windows XP 64-bit.
  14. Congrats on finishing! What's next on the plate?
  15. ..when I get in confrontations with my girlfriend and I can't control myself (nothing too serious, don't worry ), and then being compared to my Father because of such; this knocks the proverbial wind out of me every time.
  16. Recordgrooves, try uninstalling everything via the directions in the FAQ and then installing the Sonicstage 3.2 Full Installer from the Downloads section.

    Noisy HiMD?

Yes, there is certainly a plethora of extension cables available for this purpose, and also a side-benefit of using an attentuator.
  18. Which man? There's a few who do things for me..unless you meant me.
  19. Good idea, Mr. green. Stay tuned. By the by, please right click on the Desktop, go to Properties, click on the appearance tab and click on effects. Make sure the 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts.' is checked, and choose Cleartype. It won't make the font so..jaggy. No Google ads?
  20. I fixed the download location. It was initally broken, so download away.
  21. It has been released, further information is here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11890
