Enjoy, this thread is going to the main page. What's on the plate for Sonicstage 4? Well, Minidisc is about the way you want it, when you want it. *begins cryptic and subtle hints to drive you mad*

It's the English release.

Sony VAIO Pocket VGF-AP1L Pictorial
Christopher replied to Ishiyoshi's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
You mean ALC, Ishii? -
Breaking news: the inital topic has been updated with this information: -------- Thanks to MDfreak, Administrator of MDcenter.nl for this diamond in the rough: Also, it seems as if Sony has answered our prayers in regards to uploads of Live Recordings! In the past, it was required that you can only upload a self-recorded track (from an analog/optical source) once and then Sonicstage would disallow you to transfer it further. With Sonicstage 3.2, users may enjoy unlimited uploads of tracks with no restrictions whatsoever. p.s. Download Sony's official Sonicstage Installer (requires Internet to install), at Minidisc Community Downloads: http://forums.minidisc.org/downloads/details.php?file=23

Added a downloads section, which will be chock full of goodies in due time.

If you could get a picture of this disc to the forums, that would be fantastic.

I didn't expect to see anything surprising, but how are the new codecs in terms of overall sound? Is there more maturity to such? I remember Hi-SP had some artifacting and overall poor sound in comparison to the old SP/etc reported in ABX tests by quite a few users; unfortunately that thread was deleted in the loss of topics during Easter earlier in the year.. Here's the related thread at Hydrogen Audio: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/index....showtopic=26976

I started the forum on July 21st, 2005. I have removed the logo until we have a suitable one.

That's amazing! Thank you for taking the time to share some pictures. What a nice upgrade for faithful ATRAC users.

I've pronounced it A-Track since day 1. Now I wonder how you really say it..

Who in the hell would want to add DRM?! lol

Firmware v2.0 + White PSP to debut soon..
Christopher replied to Christopher's question in PlayStation
Well, there are many cases you can purchase these days for the PSP, and the Value Pack comes with a nice 'slip' case that will keep it free of most scratches and whatnot. I'm not really familiar with what sort of pants you wear (nor do I wish to become familiar with such), but it should easily fit in most people's pockets. I wouldn't want to drop a PSP, however - presumeably why it has a lanyard strap. p.s. Your avatar is giving me seizures. -
I have a feeling the PSP will be the first to have the ability to play back these new bitrates - simply because the new firmware v2.0 specifically mentions the necessity of Sonicstage 2.3 to load ATRAC3/plus for most of the memory sticks. I imagine Sony's other ATRAC devices (except Hi-MD) should get some sort of firmware upgrade to facilitate these new offerings.
-
Excellent information as always, Ishiyoshi. For the hopefuls: It's doubtful that these new bitrates will be available to first and second generation Hi-MD. Most likely for the third generation, which will hypothetically have no ability to write in regular MD mode and fully in Hi-MD mode. I'd like to learn more about DRM + *.oma's..

Welcome to the forum, alternatives6.1. When you plug in your unit to your computer via USB it shows up just like another hard drive (e.g. C:). All you have to do is open it up in My Computer and drag and drop files.

Firmware v2.0 + White PSP to debut soon..
Christopher replied to Christopher's question in PlayStation
Another pitfall of UMD movies is that they exclude alot of the bonus content that make DVD's desireable in the first place. I have located some videos of the PSP web browser in action, available either in Windows Media or Quicktime. -
Very nice, where'd you pick these up, Ishii? And yes Roland, just these and the original purple/red style, unfortunately. Hopefully TDK and the rest will start pumping out stylish discs soon.
-
Welcome to the forums! I'm not sure why your new registration wouldn't matter; cheer up! Nonetheless, your unit is indeed compatible with mp3's in a certain sense. You must convert them to ATRAC3/plus (Hi-SP, etc) first. Only the second generation of Hi-MD (MZ-RH10, RH910, etc) can transfer mp3's to Hi-MD without the need for transfer. But it's not really that big of a deal, it usually doesn't take long to convert if you have a recent-generation computer.

Hello, please discuss this non-Minidisc ATRAC device problem here at our new forum, http://www.atraclife.com/ Thanks.
-
The only high-bitrate download service I know of that is successful worldwide is http://www.allofmp3.com. It's awesome, granted you switch the language to English initally when you visit the site.
-
Please discuss this further at our new forum, ATRACLife Colloquium. All non-Minidisc topics that focus on other Sony ATRAC devices will go there. http://www.atraclife.com

I refuse to download anything made by Real after a few woes in the past. What's this about?
-
Nope, it was moved to the appropriate forum. http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11298&hl=

Thanks, Snacks. I'm glad you joined here I'm not sure what you mean by "normal", D-EJ? I can't change it, unfortunately.

Which is about $200USD. It's no secret Audiocubes has marked up prices on many of their items for quite a while.
