  1. http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/07/28...ment/index.html I usually keep my mouth shut on opinionated topics, but my roots are too deep in this matter and I can't hold it any further. I imagine this thread is going to be pretty hot tempered, so the rules don't apply here. I will never lock this, nor will any moderator - it's time we played some hardball. Disclaimer aside, Britain holds on to Northern Ireland like a dog and a bone. If Ireland was thousands of miles away, the British would end it's military occupation of Northern Ireland. However, it's next door and the IRA has defeated every effort by MI5/6, James Bond, etc to penetrate the organization. So, with their back up, they just stay; that occupation has caused the death of thousands of people. It's not unlike the American occupation of Iraq; we (USA) invaded Iraq on false pretenses, and now we are stuck. That's the problem with people who fail to read and understand history - they repeat terrible mistakes. The IRA will never disarm; they will keep quiet now that the Muslims are doing their bombing for them. See any resemblance? The Muslims are protesting the American military occupation of Iraq - what stupid people Bush and his advisors are! The American soliders want to live, and the Muslims want to die. These circumstances alone make the whole "war on terror" a no-win war for America, sad to say.
  2. We are #1. (in Google at least) Thanks though, your words are very kind and very much appreciated.
  3. I fixed a rather large error with the templates that made the site render improperly within Internet Explorer and also (presumeably) within the PSP. This is probably what you were referring to when you said "centered everything"; that was not intentional.
  4. Welcome to the forums, friend. Definitely 132kbps ATRAC3, no ATRAC3plus. Alleviate on "issue"?
  5. I put this in the suggestions forum as it's more appropriate there and also I don't wish to derail the flow of the inital thread. I hope that this isn't a bad start between us, as I'd love to make sure that we have a good relationship to ensure the relevant communities and the people within get the best information possible in every outlet possible. I have updated the thread as you noticed. I also appreciate you linking atraclife/forums.minidisc.org in your recent news posting.
  6. First off, this site has nothing to do with minidisc.org. We're not greedy, we just like to have people register (being a new site and all) - a process that takes less than a few minutes. In due time, we will be offering service manuals and the like for most Sony ATRAC devices in the downloads section. It's also guarenteed that the download will be there, whereas that link cannot be confirmed as stable for months to come until the next Sonicstage release. Austin, I would never come to your site and criticize the way you run things in public without privately speaking to you about it first if I really felt it was necessary to do so.
  7. Please continue discussion here: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11311
  8. Not only would these be awesome for people who are handicapped, but it'd be great for live recording enthusiasts as well! How awesome would it be if you could "hear" what levels you're at but it didn't get recorded whilst recording?
  9. I would also upgrade to Sonicstage 3.2 for greater flexibility with CD writing (if you're using Sonicstage, that is).
  10. I will also note that this topic may be of interest to you if you decide to retun the unit: http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=11172
  11. Quicker responses may not be our speciality, but the quality of our responses are. And as I said, it's Audiocubes' fault for charging so much. It costs around $400 max in Japan. p.s. I'm moltar, and viva Radiohead! My favorite group for sure.
  12. I see you've come "to the other side", theblueraja; welcome! The components within decks (especially Onkyo) are of very high quality, completely outdoing any Hi-MD portable in existance - it would be easy to discern the difference between a recording made on a portable in comparison to a deck. Have you ever owned a deck before or heard a recording from one, blueraja? Additionally, it's no secret that Audiocubes marks up prices on most of it's items by a significant margin.
  13. Would you be willing to trade abroad?
  14. After a surge of more than 200 registrations yesterday, we reached 13,000 this morning. Hurrah!
  15. I'd listen to how the mp3 playback sounds and judge how it sounds to you before assuming anything..

  18. Registrations are through the roof! Almost 200 just today only, and the day isn't even over yet. This is definitely the highest number we've ever gotten in one day.
  19. It will automatically uninstall it for you upon installing SS3.2.
  20. Dinko, if you could make a seperate thread with a slightly longer review and pictures* it would be immediately moved to the product reviews/pictorial forum! * - pictures aren't required, but we'd love to see them!
  21. Thanks for the shots of my two websites, it's really cool to see them in that perspective. And just to pick up on Leon's note of Sonicstage 3.2, it is fully reviewed and covered here: http://www.atraclife.com/index.php?showtopic=42
  22. Welcome to the forums. You should be fine, but just keep an eye on the battery. It's not uncommon for batteries to expand in size or become too hot when charging for extended periods of time, especially larger mAh batteries like this which would require a longer charge time. I would recommend an external charger, if possible.
