Interesting, but kind of goes counter to the current design's 56k-friendliness, the new design loads everything in each of those posts, which is a lot of information. I do like it, some what, but I'd like it to be more 56k-friendly.

Good point, maybe the slot's just big enough to fit the case in there (like a really thin case)...but maybe not Maybe that's just for recordable blu-ray and not stamped.

If sony would come up with a decent FPS solution, or gaming device, the PS3 could be awesome, but if it's just the controller, then it won't reach its full potential. I just saw some pics for the early prototype nintendo revolution, WHOA, the PS3 should've looked like that...BAD SONY!! sitting on a design.

"Pre-Recorded" MDs (Hi-MDs) are easily made by masters, MD technology (MO) only uses the magnetic head for writing, they made pre-recorded mds via stamping for quite a long time in Japan, and they still do.

I dunno how it happened out this way, but I think sonicstage works just great on my laptop, I've never had any crashes and it's really quick compared to OMG. (note, I use 3.1)

Dude, it took the Rio SP90 cd player like a minute and a half to start up and be able to play, that 1.5s load time is quick, my cd players take quite a bit longer (~10 seconds).

I've heard of guy's who have had nightmares with metal shutters too, even more since you can't get those out o.O!! Anyway, my maxells are working just great right now. Oh, it has nothing to do with the RH10, it's just most people are rough when inserting and ejecting discs without knowing it, just assuming you can be rough.

I chime in a lot in conversations like that and salespeople hate it. Anyway, I'm kinda glad that there aren't any sony stores near where I live.

Generally it's easiest to hear the differences between compressed tracks (256-320) and uncompressed (flac, wav) by playing tracks that have a lot of cymbals or stuff like that, they just seem to sound like crap when compressed...like the life is sucked out and made bland.

I discovered it by being amazing and just knowing it was here. Actually, I was searching for minidisc stuff when I found mindisc.org and mindisct.com but that was before this forum was up so I just joined up there. Later on you guys were pimping this place so much that I just had to join and so I did. Essentially moltar told me to join, lol.

Here are some of my MDs...I can take more pics if you really want me to...anyway, feel free to check out my photobucket account there...but there's some weird stuff there, so watch out!

hahaha...expensive hobby, that's for sure...I think I might get a new Hi-MD unit or player or something and try to sell something and call it quits
-
Hmm...uploading to computer...that means it has to be a Hi-MD unit, I don't know if the RH710 has a mic input...but that may be the ticket. You can get the RH910 for under 200 though and that'd perform as you want.
-
The older model, the NE410 wasn't compatible with remotes, so I doubt that one is. It does not have a backlight. I think the MZ-N510 is a stellar unit, you can get it on ebay for like 50 bucks and it works really well. IMO that cd player is better than the MD unit.

Wow, the (enlarged) picture with the earbuds really just showed how small those things are...the pink one is sweet
-
Yeah, I saw that. What if you put an engine in it and drove it to work... you'd need some friends to be able to drive it though, lol.
-
Umm...it's possible to make plugins for Sonique and the last time I checked they didn't really want to make one...and I don't think Sonicstage supports plugins (I have only used v1.5 or whatever) and so it's not possible I used to use WinAMP a lot before swapping to foobar for no apparent reason and I can't get audioscrobbler to work and I listen with my ES deck and CDs a lot...anyway http://www.audioscrobbler.com/user/Tiger005/

I had them a long time ago and I loved them, they were fuzzy and comfy (lol) and were easily driven. The eggos are a lot more sensitive so they go louder with your portable, but the A500s were easily driven by my units and I specifically remember there being a ludicrous amount of bass with my MZ-E50...it was crazy. I wore them for like 3h stints at home and in my million-degree room I had no problems (like 700w lights + comp). The only weird thing about them is that the two pad thingies that hold them up make your hair stick up between them and so you look dumb, but not as dumb as with the "eggo bump" which I all but eliminated as for a review, I haven't heard them in such a long time I shouldn't comment on the sound...but I remember it being silky smooth, violins were much more coherent and fluid with them over the eggos. Try searching on head-fi for comments if I've ever posted any

Whoa!, are you serious that it had a PC connection? How so, do you mean the DPC thing? or is it like what some old decks had ... pc controllable playback/pause, etc.
-
You could probably procure a US-model MZ-RH910 from eBay for less than its' price of 200 dollars and have it sent to Oz . It has the ability to upload recordings, although I don't know how to do that,...I know it does. I hope that helps any, try searching around here or www.minidisct.com/forum for answers.

I was just thinking about this...the nature of a "mix", which is ... in essence, a quickly put-together grouping/compilation of songs in which not much thought has been put. Essentially it's like having a mic plugged into your md and just recording cool songs while on the go and then using that...I dunno, I just thought that'd be a cool thing to try out. I'm gonna try it... I wonder if those 'nub' mics are any decent because mine is like a paintball barrel...

Yay Ishiyoshi!! (bump post but I'm happy for him)

Yeah I use it because I can't stand the main page with refault, other than that I guess refault's okay.

2-3 years from now is a long time if you think about it...they way technology comes about.
