  1. Marc, Your program rocks! You should be getting a royalty from Sony because the only reason I got my third minidisc player and first Hi-MD is because of your program. I've enjoyed testing the upgrades. Keep it up!
  2. Thanks for the offer but as you probably saw in a post above I already got on off of ebay. Thanks again

    Sony RM-MC11EL

mcrmcleod, Yes, I did get my remote on eBay. It was from sony-dude. I received the remote in what looked like new condition. Everything works fine and I really like it too. I just checked his auctions and it looks like he doesn't have any of the MC11ELs for sale right now. However when the buy-it-now auction ended for the one I got there were still 9 left for sale. So, maybe if you emailed him he would put it back up again. Anyway, I hope this helps. Thanks
  4. Also, I forgot to state this above but I have a ver 1.3 with the original values of 80 and 10. Thanks
  5. Alright, I did it. All of the values are just the same as they are for the N707. Thanks!
  6. Thanks for the reply. In my case I have a laptop. So I guess I'm going to look into getting a Extigy. What is a good price? Are these things something that would last forever and I could get a used one? Thanks
  7. Has anyone here tried the iMic with Goldwave or Adobe Audition? Does it work? Will something like the Extigy give me a noticeable quality difference over the iMic? Or will it be the same? Thanks
  8. I have a N707 so it might be different on the n10 but what I do is when I'm going to record something I hold down pause and slide over record. It should be on record pause now. Then I click menu and navigate down to record volume then click enter. It will be on auto and you want to be on manual. Select manual. Now your forward and reverse buttons will adjust your record volume. Also remember to set your headset volume at an expectable level. Hope this helps. Let me know if you have more questions or this doesn't make any sense. Thanks
  9. Thank you very much for the reply. I also came to the same conclusion after reading the thread again. Is there anyone else out there who also owns a N707 and a N505 that can verify this? I really don't want to do it wrong. Also, I have a MC11EL remote did people find out that if you hack it with your remote plugged in your buttons will remap? Was that only with certain remotes or with all of them? Your comments would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  10. I bought my first MD player (N707) a few months ago and got my second one (N505) a few days ago. After I got my 707 I read through the hack thread and decided to do it. It worked out great! Now I would like to hack my 505 but it wasn't totally clear how to do it. I was wondering if maybe the instructions for the hacks of various units should be a sticky? Anyway if someone could enlighten me on how to hack the 505 I would be most grateful. Thanks

    Sony RM-MC11EL

I went ahead and bought one. I asked the sell before I bought it where they came from and this is the responce I got back: I wonder what they sell. Anyway, I guess I saved a few bucks. Thanks
  12. There is an eBay auction for a Sony RM-MC11EL remote. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWA%3AIT&rd=1 Is this a good price? Anyone have one to sell for less? Thanks
  13. Is that what you were thinking of? Please let me know if you would like me to change anything. Thanks!
  14. I received them today. Thanks! They sound great!
  15. Great! Thanks. I'll let you know when I receive them.
  16. I'll take them. Thanks. Please look at the PM that I sent you. Thank you again
  17. Great! I'm glad everything worked out well.
  18. I bought a N707 brand new (still in sealed package) on eBay for I think $144. I also I recently purchased a N505 (doesn't have mic input) for $55. That should give you some kind of price range. If you find some that have minidiscs included you could pay a little more for it. Hope this helps.
  19. Hi All, I just wanted to drop you guys a note telling you how much I enjoy this site. I'm sure you don't get enough thanks for what you do here. I'm new to the Minidisc world. I bought my first one about a month ago and a second one yesterday. I use them primarily for recording speaking sessions at various tradeshows and conferences. I've gotten great, accurate, and worthwhile advice here. Keep up the good work!
  20. I have two laptops. One is a Dell (about 1 1/2 yrs old) the other is a Gateway (about 1 yr old). On the Gateway I get a lot of static and background noise. On the Dell however it sounds great. As you can see it really depends on your computer. What I would suggest is download the trial of Gold Wave and record nothing to your computer. Then play it back and listen for pops and crackles. It will at least help you to know if you are going to have a major problem. Of course since it is an analog connection you still will lose some quality. Hope this helps.
  21. Thanks for that advice mAjEsTiC. It isn't too late yet. So, which remote would you suggest that I get? Would you still get the 33EL or would you go for something like the 11EL? Thanks
  22. I haven't had any problems with recording on my N707. I'm coming from a 12 channel mixer to the line input. However when I "upload" (record) to my computer (in real time) I press play and for a second you can hear the motor start up and this will record onto the computer. Once it starts playing you don't hear the motor at all and it is easy to edit out the beginning. Hope this helps.
  23. Thanks for all of the great advice.
  24. Thanks for the info. On the earphones what is the difference between the EX71SL and the EX71LP? Or is there not a difference? I too love my n707. Thanks
  25. Thanks for the links. I just bought the N707. I would like to get a different remote for it. Which one should I get for it? I've read that people like the 11EL but should I get a different one? Thanks
