Has anyone used the ART DPS II as a front for minidisc? I'm interested in using the optical out as well as the phantom power for my condenser mikes. The various adjustments look nice too. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks

Questions/Comments for Marc's uploading utility.

Hey guys my problem with the static on cd's was the brand of cd's. Tried a different brand and now everything is great. Bet you guys can't guess which brand was giving me the problems? Starts with a S and ends with a Y. The one company we all love to hate. -
I'm looking for a good set of powered speakers. I will use these on my desktop at work and sometimes to fill a small room during rehearsals. I would prefer something that has an additional sub on it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, classicalnut

Best settings to record live classical singing?
classicalnut replied to linzq's topic in Live Recording
Hope this helps. I too have the 800. Please experiment with the manual volume it will make a difference. I record my church choir and several other choirs all the time and mike placement varies from locations. Also experiment with the mike placement. Depending on the acoustics and the piano also experiment with where you stand in relation to the piano. -

HELP When I burned a cd from my renderer files I have some major problems. 1. When I convert my file it says anywhere from 83 to 97 % converted never 100 percent is this a problem? My cd has alot of static on it. It won't play in my computer cd drive but will in my 15 year old cd deck. It skips like hell on other cd players. I tried a different cd in my computer and it played just fine. Did I maybe have a bad cd blank? Any help would be appreciated, Peace, classicalnut -

Community Spirit...Let's Support Marc better!
classicalnut replied to stevetoney's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Well I for one will donate as soon as I can get the program to work for me. And before everyone starts in on me I am the first to admit that I am not the most computer savey person out there. I can get the program to convert my file but after converting I can't find it where I said to store it. Will try working with it again and hope for the best. Peace and thanks Marc for all your good work. -
I record classical pipe organ all the time and found that PCM is much better than Hi-SP. Hi-SP lacks the high and low frequincies that I get with PCM. PCM is much better for me.

classicalnut replied to journalist's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Great work, I got my oma file transfered. Now my problem, I can't find the converted file. It's not where I said to send it to. Any thoughts on this? Any help will be appreciated, Classicalnut -
That's it...I've Had it...Done with Hi-MD & Minidisc!
classicalnut replied to CygnusTC's topic in Minidisc
I just about feel the same way. If it wasn't for it's size and ability to record uncompressed pcm I would switch. If anyone knows of anything that is as small records umcompressed and is EASY to transfer to computer for cd burning let us know. I know that the renderer program is out there but I can;t make it work for me. -

classicalnut replied to journalist's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Well I for one am giving up on this program. I may be stupid but I can't figure out how to work it and can't seem to get any help. For now I will either buy Total Recorder and go that way or continue to use analog in and record on my computer in real-time. E-mailed Sony and they told me that they don't have a date for their wave converter. Well for now I hope all the bugs are worked out of this program and maybe one day I'll come back to it, Peace to all, Classicalnut -

Questions/Comments for Marc's uploading utility.
classicalnut replied to journalist's topic in Hi-MD Renderer Forum
Well hopefully these won't be stupid questions from a computer illiterate. 1. Do you have to use SS2.2 for this to work? 2. Is there someone willing to post step by step details on how to get this to work, from downloading MarC's program to going from MD to computer to burning a CD? 3. If not, is there someone willing to talk me throught this on the phone this Sunday afternoon (10/3/04) or is there someone in the St. Louis, MO area that can help me with this. Peace to all, classicalnut -

How easy is this program to use for those of us who have very little working knowledge of computers. Most of what I do is just click this and then click that. My method of record from MD has been from line out to line in and then recording to Sound Forge. Is your method as easy as this? Hopefully it is or maybe you can post everything needed to know in qreat detail. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Classicalnut
