Digital will always sound different to analog...thats the nature. Digital is capable of reproducing almost ALL of the frequencies (even the ones we can't hear) which is why some people say that they are harsh. There tends to me more on the higher end of the spectrum. better or worse?? Personal decision.

I had heard that, but you know what? I am using a 610 NETMD so i am used to it...exccept now I will have three lines and a lighted remote. And the ability to get a 40ELK.....what more could I ask for?? Thanks guys!
-
yeah....$250 for unit, mic, larger carrying case (holds player, phones, and 12 discs) and some blanks...the mic and case made the deal for me! The guitar centers out here (NJ/PA) only have he MZ-M100 bundle for $399...wasn't worth it my opinion (for me anyway) when I can get a new one online for at about $50 less.

sweet!! Well I just did it...I bought a NH900...I decided to make the move to HIMD with this one cause it seems the way to go for this...Plus it was in a bundle and i got a carrying case, mic, and some blanks. Not a bad deal....And if I continue with the media (which I think I will..been two years now and still going) I may get the RH1 eventually..... You guys know if the NH900 Australia has any limitations like the dreaded vol cap from the European models?>
-
Did you do the same with the new one? (order wise i mean)
-
Where did you get that black beauty??
-
I know I am dealing with really knowledgeable folks here...but did anyone try to do a master reset or does one even exist?? (Suggestion and well as questions ) )
-
But in a lot of airports, the signs tell you that they are magnetic media friendly (at least the last time I flew they did.) Even still I think you will be fine.
-
How far? I mean isn't that what ATRAC does anyway?? (gets rid of the frequencies we can't hear?) Is it really that bad?
-
I'm sorrry if this is repetive, or if I missed it, but what exactly is the problem with mp3 playback on the rh10s?
-
So basically for $100 more you get the color, the charging stand and the display remote. Hmmmm....not too bad...thanks for the info...anyone know how reputible this guy is?
-
ANyone know where I can get a hold of one without paying a rediculous price for it? It seems everywhere I look its $100 more ($350) than the US Models.
-
Might get the remote, but keep in mind I am using an old 610 right now...Screen (RH1 definitely better) Don't need a jog dial (gotten along fine without) and always carry spare batts with me every where I go so that isnt a problem either.... I cant wait till summer!!!
-
I think that that's what its going to be!!! EXCELLENT!
-
sorry for my own reply...but $300???? Even for pre order, that seems like a good deal with a free mic!!!
-
Thanks sooo much for all of the responses! It is not my first MD, I own a 610 and I absolutely love the thing. I think i am ready for the jump to HI MD though and wanted to get a good number of opinions. MP3 really isn't all that important to me...quite frankly I think atrac sounds better. I do have some legacy SP recordings (not many due to size of recording. When I do optical recording, I usually let the play conver to SP2 so that is can fit. Will I have problems with them?
-
And where can i get one now being in the US??? Probably not until at least Summer if at all!
-
Just hoping I could get a little nudge in one direction or another? Any help would be grand! I understand the 900 has more features, but the rh10 looks soooo nice.
-
Could also be that your levels are too high... Sounds A LOT like the amp cutting back to protect itself.
-
I didn't have any problems when I first installed (I have the same unit) i did install Sonic Stage, however! i would recommend installing it if you want to hook it up to pc for the transfers. just follow this link to download the most recent US version. Sony Sonic Stage 3.0

The player has the capability...and I will check to make sure WAV is all the way up, but I was under the impression that the optical's output volume could not be controlled that way....I will check! Thanks for the quick responses.

I have spent all morning searching the forums and can't find an answer to my specific situation. Recording from computer to MD through optical out. Sound is great, but volume is extremely low, even with recording volume all the way up. I know that I cannot adjust it through the computer. I am sure others have tried this and was wondering if anyone has gotten to volume to increase in one way or the other?? Thanks in advance.
-
Actually, check that. It seems to not like my internet connection every once in a while. Not sure what the cause of this is...could it be my firewall router?
-
Actually, I decided to bite the bullet and uninstall 1.5xx. Just backed up in case. Seems to be working pretty well.
-
Ok guys...sorry I am a newbie to all of this. Does SS1.5xx have to be uninstalled before ss2 can be installed, or is it an upgrade situation? And if it needs to be uninstalled, can or should I back up from within SS?? I want to take advantage of Connect but I want to do the research before taking the plunge. Thanks in advance guys (and girls)
