  1. Phil, I have noticed you guys clearing out a bunch of stuff as of late (as in giveaways with purchase.) Please don't tell me you guys are going away!
  2. The one i bought about a month ago was from minidiscaccess.com. While slightly over priced, they're service is excellent. NH900 bundle (74 minutes discs [cheesy by ok] - a nice carrying case holding 12 mds, the unit and some extras [batts etc], the microphone, and the 220 to 110 adapter) Total price was $249.98 + shipping (This depends on where in the us you live.) these units were imported from AUS. But its works like a charm and sounds AWESOME! They also sell it for 198.99 without the bundle but it still comes with the converter!
  3. Funny part is that the 1st gens are pretty much stayin put! Interesting....With my 1st gen (which i just got not too long ago) from what I have read, they are better than 2nd gen (as far as sound quality). I have seen both the rh10 and the nh900 at the same price.
  4. I agree...i just downloaded and installed it, and it worked like a charm! Without uninstalling and reinstalling SB. FANTASTIC!!!Way to go Sammy!
  5. Doesn't even let me do that...click on register and the tracks blind once and nothing else happens...don't know if this is related, but the support button is greyed out as well. CDDB works fine in SS but absolutely nothing in SB. Also, I keep getting C++ errors when I try to type in the disc title and track names. Keeps telling me that it ended unexpectedly.
  6. can anyone here translate that page?
  7. Rh1 is available at www.soundprofessionals.com...here you can pre-order one for US and I believe it comes with a free mic.
  8. Just a quick question...Does the Aus version have any quirks like this? I notice that the volume goes to 30, but just want to make sure. And does this unit have normalization for playback or record only?? I seem to remember reading somewhere that it did, but I could be mistaken.
  9. word....rayzray! word! Just for the record...i don't own an mp3 player!
  10. As far as listening, just personal opinion, I think MDLP at SP2 is better sound quality than mp3s.(My first MD unit is the 610 and i love it!) I take my MP3s and convert them to SP2 and I like more. And now that I own a Hi-MD unit (NH900) the songs sound even better (both my standard MDLP and Hi) IMO, the mp3 players (flash based and HD) are just throw aways and for people who don't really care what the music sounds like (because most people who listen to them just crank it way up to the point of heavy distortion anyway, and use really crappy phones) Sorry for the banter, but thats just the way i feel.
  11. From what I understand, this unit is supposed to get power from the usb cable when connected, but after doing some transferring, i noticed the battery life was about half....no big deal, but wondering whats up with that? Does it just mean that if I take the battery out, it will use the usb power instead of battery?
  12. Although I have yet to do any HiMD recordings on my new baby, I popped in some MDLP discs (SP2) to check out sound quality and the like, and man, let me tell you!! Sound quality is outstanding!!! The little monster had no trouble driving my MDR-7506s and only half volume, and the detail is amazing! I am glad I did it!! Now I just need to find a corner to bury myself in with some discs and just site and enjoy! And I really do not have much of a problem with the LCD...looks clean and is very controlable and the features on this thing, especially sound adjustments ar a plenty.... Can't wait to delve in some more!
  13. I've got about 32 songs. The thing is, nothing shows up at all for some of those tracks except for file name.
  14. besides that, i wouldn't really want to put that thing in my pocket....
  15. Just wondering, I found these two model numbers of seemingly the same battery... anyone know why? SONY NH-14WM(A) SONY NH-14WM
  16. Price too high? the RH10 is at least $225 depending on where you get it, and it doesn't do as much, and the things that they both do, the RH1 (in spec anyway) does better. Different strokes for different folks, but I think that the hard button pressing (which will become easier over time) is a good thing. And lets not forget that this is mainly a recording unit, so it is set up as such. Quite frankly I think that this is something that Sony got 'almost' completely right....there are issues, but liveable and the price will most certainly come down or promos will be involved (ie, mic or something) For the price, if it works well, this is one heck of a portable recording studio. Just my $.02 Even with issues like this, I will probably get one before the year is out. I need to curb a bit...I just bought an NH900...should have it today or tomorrow and I can't wait!
  17. I know there is a site online that is accepting pre orders for them (soundprofessionals.com) but I wonder if they are being imported? They are going for $299 w/a free microphone.
  18. Good to know guys....No I was talking about the lights that get power from notebooks specifically...its not possible to do what I was thinking because the USB on the unit probably doesn't put out much power at all i would assume.
  19. You know...that makes me think...is the usb on the units powered? I mean I know it would probably totally eat battery life in seconds, but would one of those usb flexible lights work if you were to plug it into the unit??? If you could find a way to power it portably...that would be interesting.
  20. Used it to burn an MP3 disc a few weeks ago and noticed that not all of the songs information showed up on my head unit... Anyone know if there is a limit to the number if id3 tags or if its a bit touchy with them?
  21. A little late, but did I see "No Clock" in there...?? Does that mean that once I get my 900 I can turn the clock on?? Anyone know for sure?
