Because I like to swear at Sonic Stage....did it about 5 times today. I bought the 600D as I only had a Aiwa AM-F80 MD and wanted a MDLP player...my 6 yr old took off with my N505 and won't give it back. Now I have to keep him away from my good headphones. I just picked up a used NH900 for $180....figured what the heck. So why....I like fiddling with things. MDs are great to fiddle with like cassettes and film. Valder

OK I saw over in the calssified section this guy in China offering this remote. He has it now for $52 and says if corresponds with all those listed units in the auction below. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...745310&tc=photo Anyone tried it with an older MD player or a CD? I have the D-EJ955 and would love a better remote for that CD Player. Valder

Canon, Sony, Nikon, Minolta, etc...insert company name here....just about anything you get from any companies CS about new features or units that have not been announced or even if they have been announced, the CS people seem to be the last to know. Val
-
Sounds like a standard customer service reply to me. I really doubt that any future changes in the function of the minidisc system will be allowed to leave Sony through an email from CS. This would be a major change and there would be an official announcement from Sony. Valder

I know what you mean. I am still waiting for that rack at Walmart to fill up that is labeled 3pk HiMD for $9.99....... Val

Nismo, Got your message...I have another that might be interested in the whole lot. If that falls through I'll let ya know. Thanks Darrin

Sounds like the tranfer time is a bit too long for my use. I would be uploading 3MB JPEGs or RAW images from my 1 GB CF. Valder

Thanks Gary. Yeah I usually trash the earbuds that come with what I buy. I hate them. I use clip ons when traveling or my noise cancelling Aiwas. Grados at home. Valder

http://tinyurl.com/6h5hc Now that I have my Canon 20D I was looking at those digital wallets, but remembered seeing this awhile ago. Would be a great excuse to upgrade the 600 to the 900 or NH1. Any feedback would be appreciated on tranfer time from Compact Flash cards and how long the batteries actually last. (of course using rechargeables is what I would be using) Valder

The Zen Micro only has voice recording via the built in mic and FM recording. If you want to record anything other than that forget it. It does look like a cool little player though. Valder

The Sony PSP will supposedly play MP3s straight. But 1GB MS PRo Duos are a bit more pricey than 1GB HiMDs at around $200 for 1GB. So if you want to carry around more music than that then HiMD might be the way to go for you. Valder

I always wanted one of these little ones. See them going fairly cheaply new on Ebay thought it might be worth picking up. Looking for a good small player to play my SP discs from my Pioneer Elite Home deck. How is the sound output compared to the MZ-NH600D Hi-MD unit...for those that have both of course? Valder
-
Exactly. I have all my MP3s coded at 256kbps and they are fine. If I want better I toss a CD in the Sony D-EJ955. HiMD playing MP3 would be great. Their new Portable PlayStation will also have native MP3 support. Valder

Cool. Then I also assume that you can adjust the recording level on the HiMD (yeah I never made a recording with a protable MD). Then all the original poster has to do is then hook the Hi-MD to one of his outputs on his Preamp/Receiver and adjust the levels on the MD unit and record away. For those to young out there for vinyl the output of a turntable needs to go through a phono preamp first before listening to it or recording the output. Valder

I have been pondering this as well as I have about 400+ albums and there are a few on there I would like to get them on my PC. Can you record through the line in on the MD and still transfer it to the PC? Valder

Email sent. Valder

OK, I know that SS does not support my SCSI CDROMs, but does it not play well in a SCSI system? Since I un-installed SS 2.2 about 2.5 days ago my PC has not crashed at all. Before that it was giving me the blue screen of death a couple times a day. I thought it was my printer, but now I doubt it was. Valder

Nah I tend to get a bit irrational when I get ticked off. :wacky: Oh well...No biggie just a couple hundred CDs....I work at home so it won't take long to get them back in the PC as MP3s. Val
-
I may give it one more try, but I did everything to get back my files and make SS recognize me as the owner but it didn't work. As far as my PC this is my Photo and music machine...pretty spartan as far as installed programs. I never had a problem with the old Net MD and MP3s converted in SS. Valder

Nevermind guys....So long and thanks for the fish. I just gave up on this whole Hi-MD thing. Deleted SS again and all my saved Atrac albums. Gonna redo them all in MP3 and use a damn CD player. Look for a bargain basement sale in the Classified section over the weekend for a Sony MZ-600D, about 100+ MD blanks, 7 Hi-MD blanks and I'll get a few pics of my Pioneer Elite Homedeck and update my ad already there. Darrin

Beautiful just Beautiful. Well I uninstalled it according to the FAQ and then installed the new version of SS 2.2 and now I don't have the rights to transfer any of my saved Atrac files. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Val
-
I'm just getting annoyed at the SS crashing ALOT, hanging up and just in general being a pain in the arse. Val

I think that smashing my 600 also helped a bit...at least I want to think so. Val
