  1. Sorry, forgot to mention I have tried a different disc though I'm not 100% sure if there is data on it. I know I've used it before but I don't know for sure if I had emptied it or not (no reason for me to do so though). I will try to borrow my friend's MD/disc to check.
  2. Yesterday, after using my N10 for a bit, I plugged it in to be charged. Later that day when I tried to use it, it couldn't read discs anymore. Would just report blankdisc. I read the sticky but I'm not sure if I'm having the same problem. I took apart my MD just to check though and the ribbon seems fine to me. Will try to get my hands on another MD to test if my thing can record since I can't read what is recorded anyways. From playing the disc with the MD open, I know that the laser is functional and the disc spins. Not sure if the magnetic head is working but mine doesn't move up and down like the N1 described in that thread. Maybe I can test the ribbon with a...voltmeter? (can't remember what it's called) Note: When charging, I for the first time did a full charge not using the cradle, but by plugging my ac adapter into the external battery case to perform the charge. Reason for this is cuz I'm using an universal adapter and it is a bit loose when connected to the cradle and if I'm not careful I end up discharging my MD to the usb port. This may be the cause -> something got fried, but doesn't seem likely. Anyways, I'm hoping someone here might have an idea as to what is wrong Maybe it just needs a recalibration? But dunno how to get into service menu for the MD >< Thanks in advance for any help
  3. I have SS2.3 running just fine on my XP SP2. My running environment is different though: XP SP2 clean install, not upgraded. SS2.3 Full Install, not upgrade. <- this may be a big difference since 2.3 uses newer openmg. AMD system. <- highly doubt it has anything to do with this. I do have DEP enabled with default settings (only enabled for OS specific files).
  4. I can supply you with a full installer that will run offline. But you'd have to get it onto the offline computer yourself.
  5. Registered just to post this. I downloaded the SS 2.3 from Sony's Asia PlanetMD (is it? read it just a sec ago and forgot it again) using their webdownload program and have made an installer out of that. There is no connect in this version and I can put it on BT for distribution in a couple days. It is re-packaged with 7-zip so it is a significantly smaller download than what is available on that website. I had made a previous installer for 2.2 that had multi-byte support enabled upon installation but this seems to no longer be possible with the new 2.3 because of the new MSI based installer. I tried using a MSI repackager but couldn't find the necessary registry data in there. I think another installer packed in the MSI is run and that one sets up the registry keys. It's been a couple weeks and I don't quite remember. This can still be done by manually modifying the registry after installation for those who use it. I offered my package on minidisct's forum and no one was interested, hope that's not the case here
