Hi All, Have any of you ever had the following problem? A couple of weeks back I went to use my MD player, pressed play on the remote and nothing happened. Thinking the hold switch was on I checked the remote, it wasn't on but I noticed the battery indicator was on (reading full), but nothing else was displayed. I pressed play again several times and nothing kicked in. I then tried the unit direct and it still wouldn't kick in. I took the disc out and then reloaded it and all was fine? I didn't think anymore about this until yesterday morning when I went to play my MD player but the battery was empty which was strange because I had fully charged it overnight (it was charging as I always check it after being caught out once). I screwed on the external pack, that was loaded with a fresh battery and all was fine. This morning though, the battery in the external pack is dead? I only used the MD for 1 hour yesterday so the charge has gone somewhere? Any suggestions? I will look out the receipt tonight as the unit is only 11 months old, but wondered if the MD Oracles knew of anything similar? Is it likely just to be the battery and not the Unit? Thanks in advance!

I would suggest burning to Audio CD and re ripping in SS.

What next! I came home last night, switched on the TV to see the tale end of a Sony walkman advert on British TV. The amazement and slight dizziness have only just passed!

On my NH900: +2, +1, 0, +1, 0, 0, (Sony standard issue headphones) Like Kurisu said, I just set this to my personal preference (whilst listening to a favourite song). I have never changed it.

Gold star greenmachine! Thanks!

A while back someone post a link to a website like GNOD that you put in a band name and it gives you other bands that people think sound similar. The band names appeared like they were floating on the screen? Can anyone remember the URL please?

Thanks a great Album Kurisu. A friend gave me a copy a few months back and I love it. Really good for listening too on the train I think.

Difficult one... I would say altime wise would have to be The Beatles/Rolling Stones. Of recent years: Oasis The Bluetones, The Charatans Madness Phil Collins Genesis

Superb! My friend and I did something with business mail once. He was made redundant from a job because 'there wasn't enough work' but found out the week after that the bosses son had been given his job. Rather than trying to sue, (it was only a summer job), we took to cutting out of the papers we could get anyhting that gave you a free sample, free trial, free brochure etc.... We really went to town! I'm sure his old boss really appreciated the 7 free hedge trimmers, numerous adult DVDs, 12 different lingaphone tapes (his Native Indian dialect came on a real treat!), craftmatic beds etc etc etc!

Hello and welcome. I recently upgraded from Sonicstage V2.0 to 3.0 by simplying running the new version which was on CD and letting it install itself over the old version. It would be worth running the sonicstage backup tool first though (Tools>Sonicstage Backup) just in case something goes wrong. Hope all goes well!

At the moment The Charatans 'Tellin Stories' But I've just been given Jack Johnsons 'In Between Dreams' which I'll be puttting onto MD ASAP when I get home!

Another reason for SS being a pain is that it only runs on Win 98SE I think? I have it running on WIN 98SE and had to download the new direct X plug in from Microsoft (v9?) and like you Media player 7 and codec 9 etc. Best of luck with it!

My understanding is that is does not get charged. The MD player becomes USB powered i.e. does not take charge from the battery but from the PC, but no charge goes into the battery.

Tried to post this in the news section but I done have access. Apple Vs Microsoft

The answer is....... 4 How: 7,12,6,15,2,____ Take the first number (7) and times by 2 and minus 2. This equals the second number in the sequence i.e. (7*2)-2=12 Take the third number (6) and times by 3 and minus 3. This equals the forth number in the sequence i.e. (6*3)-3=15 The pattern is now appearing of times/minus going up by 1 so Take the fifth number (2) and times by 4 and minus 4 i.e (2*4)-4=4 so 4 is the answer.

Well done Volta! 2 months of time out sound good to me. Have you a job lined up?

Simple burner is the way forward. I have used it on several of these CDs and it works a treat!
-
Hi, Can't answer the first but the 2nd part takes me about 15 mins (which I think is slow!). I put this down to my system though Win98se, 400MHz, 128MB RAM. (Simple burner is about half the speed though) Whats your timing?
-
Superb! Hope my minidisc doesn't get fleas!
-
I confess to being a beginner in the recording world so maybe wrong but my understanding is that you cannot turn this off, but you should be able to edit the tracks into one big one on the minidisc player itself.

It's not quite the cinematic experience you'd get watching it, but listening quality wise I haven't noticed too much depreciation and the laughs still get me!
-
I am currently listening to the film 'Caddyshack' thanks to my first ever attempt at recording with my MD from DVD last night. 'TheBig Lebowski' will be the next to get the MD experience I think!

Hi Champa, I know some on the forum will say I must have rusty nails jammed in my ears but I recently got the NH900 and have converted several MP3 albums worth of songs using SS to Atrac3+ (64k) to play on my MD and cannot hear any real loss in quality. I am running on a windows 98 PC with about the same processing speed and RAM as you. The actual transferring of MP3s into SS is real quick, but the transfer from SS to MD takes about 10 mins . For CD based albums I use Simple Burner that came with my player and that is much quicker (5 mins) Hope that helps?

Hi All, I am a very proud NH900 user and love it but my other half wants an MP3 player for using at the gym etc. My great plan was to get her one of the small round Sony ones (NW-E105) so that she can make the most of my music collection stored in SS. My MD player came with SS 2.0 which as I have an old PC works fine and I am hesitant to upgrade to SS 3.0 (which comes with the MP3 player) incase it kills my old computer. My question, does anyone here know if the NW-E105 works with SS 2.0? I know it's not a strictly MD related question but I have faith in you guys out there! Cheers for now.
