Welcome to forums ATELETRONICS, Can you please post links to these websites?
OK. I did some research. The 2 models i could find are the "Insigna model IN-MP101" at Best Buy electronics and at crutchfield.com "Audiobahn model A1200N". They both have usb inputs on the front.

I saw the stereo in an ad for Best Buy electronics. it was only$100 the brand may have been infinity. Unfortunatly i threw the ad away.

very interesting ATELETRONICS!
Does it mean that the car stereo will drive your Himd just like a computer ?
If so , you can overpass the digital amplifier of the Himd (which is not excellent to my ears)
If the car stereo can decode WMA lossless: 3 hours of PCM quality on one 1GB himd!
I dont know if they can do wma lossless. The package says mp3 and wma throught usb. there is really no reason to use lossless in a car. just use wma varaible and set it to the highest setting. Its comparable to 320mp3 but it sounds better to me.

For those of you who are looking to hook up the hi-md in your car there are car stereos that have usb inputs. You can copy the music as data files them play them directly from the player digitally through usb.

did youtry different headphones, try turning the eq off, can you hook it up to your stereo at home and listen to see if you can hear it that way. i have a mz-n510. its awesome but i ust admit it deas sound funny. it seems the mid range is too low or something. i have played it listening on mayn different speakers and headphones. are you making the disks from mp3's or straight from cd's?
