Any difference in sound quality with the RH1 and other units? I understand that the RH1 is targeted to the "recorder" market - and I think this is a smart move - but one of the reasons I love my NH900 is the high quality playback sound it gives me (especially with Hi-SP and PCM).

...can't wait until May when this comes out in the USofA (Sony even has me rhyming!). Time to cut off all spending so that I can afford this.
-
Yes, I also need to know when it will be released in the US...I don't see any specific mention to a release date in the USA...?

Thanks for reminding me to look into this. I had come across this interesting device a while ago, but then somehow forgot about it. -

The question I want answered is: When??? some say this will hit the stores in June, some say April. It's a given that I'll buy this, so the real questions for me is: When? When? When??? -

Hi Folks, I bought an extra NH900 from a store in California, and since my existing one works fine, I think I'll let this one go. It is brand new. Never opened (the seal is still on it). It shipped with an AC Adapter, so I'll throw that in as well. I bought it in California, but I think it might have originated in China (I'm not sure). I'd like to sell it for $160 plus shipping (I have Paypal). Here are the details: BRAND NEW AND UNOPENED Sony MZ-NH900 Hi-MiniDisc Walkman Jog-dial on front of case Stick-type, backlit remote. Charging stand USB connection on main unit. Bookmark function "VPT" Acoustic Engine (Virtual Phone Technology = Virtual Surround) 6 Band Equalizer Mic sensitivity (high/low) selector. Digital pitch control (allows playback speed change without pitch change). Quick Mode NiMH gumpack battery (NH-10WM) Digital amp. Body construction: Aluminum/Plastic. Color: Silver. AA battery case Records to Hi-MD (1GB) blanks and normal MD blanks reformatted to 300MB. Provides PC uploading of audio recorded from microphone or line input. Functions as USB data drive (FAT format filesystem). Linear PCM and ATRAC3plus recording at 256 ("Hi-SP") and 64 ("Hi-LP") kbps. Included software: SonicStage 2.0 and SimpleBurner Operating power provided over USB bus when connected to a PC. Accessories: Charging cradle, external AA cell case, remote, NiMH rechargeable battery, AC power adapter, optical cable, usb cable, headphones

I personally think the NH900 was Sony's best version of the MD portable...

Any one else notice that CONNECT is not working? I've purchased three albums and after attempting to download I get a message saying that it can't download the files. I know it's not my computer because I tested it on three different computers. Plus, when I asked CONNECT for help, all they did was say that after testing the albums themselves, they agree that there is a problem and they gave me a coupon for a free album download...which resulted in another error message...
-
...I disabled my firewall, deleted cookies and temp file - no dice. I now have CONNECT support trying to solve the problem...wish me good luck.
-
I'm also having problems just downloading albums from CONNECT. CONNECT first tells me that it can't download the tracks, then SS 3.4 locks up when I try to re-download them.
-
I noticed with the ss3.4 that the viewing options are not as good as 3.3. I downloaded an album from CONNECT and SS 3.4 listed each song within the album separately - instead of creating a folder with the album icon as it was done in 3.3. Am I not choosing the proper viewing option? Also, Has anyone else had a problem with their computer locking up with the new 3.4 upgrade? Ever since I installed it, I'm having trouble downlouding form CONNECT and SonicStage locks up my computer to the point where I have to "Ctrl/Alt/Delete" out of the program. Also - I noticed that ss 3.4 does not save my settings. For example, when I choose the fields that I want to appear (album, artist, track #, etc.) it does not save it in the order that I have arranged them when I return back to ss 3.4 the next time. ALSO - when I download a song, ss 3.4 lists multiple copies of the same exact song, so I keep having to delete the extra tracks. What's worse is that when I get out of ss 3.4 (after deleting the extra tracks)and come back, there are even MORE copies of the same track! I'm quite annoyed.

Does this now allow us to convert a song that we downloaded from CONECT into a WAV file? -

...perhaps this upgrade also points to SONY's renewed dedication to the MD, and that future generations of MDs are on the horizon? I sure hope so! -
it just is...trust me

NH900 is better
-
...big news! this deserves its own thread!
-
...there is a reason why your nh900 is in very good condition with no scratches - it's because this unit was built exceptionally well. The rh-10 on the other hand WILL scratch, and will scratch badly. I think you'll regret your decision. In my opinion, the nh900 is the best portable MD unit Sony has ever produced (better scroll wheel, better navigation, better digital amp, and a line out option. The nh900 is packed with features and it is very durable. If I were you, I would resist the temptation to sell off a good unit merely for the sake of getting a new one.

I use the Jazz setting with Senheisser 100s and I think the sound is amazing on my NH-900. I mostly listen to Indie Rock.

This pretty much sums it up for me too.
