  1. Hankow Road is in Tsim Sha Tsui area, which has a lot of camera/AV shops and their main target customers are tourists. I never shop at those shops as I always thought their price are higher. Anyway, if you can find bargain prices then by all means do it. However, be VERY careful in buying items from those shops. Make sure you hold an item in your hand BEFORE you pay any money (including 'deposits') then you're OK.
  2. For HiMD, the only models that I'm aware of are RH-10 and RH-910 which are still on sale at UNY at Tai Koo Shing (Tai Koo MTR Station), and I'm pretty sure these are the last two models ever sold in HK. I've been looking for some MD units for the past few months and couldn't find any other than the two models above. As much as I hate to see, MD market will soon totally disappear in HK and past major companies like Sony/Onkyo/JVC has recently taken away the MD components from mini-HiFi Systems and somehow replace them by cassettes.
  3. Some copy protected CDs cannot be ripped by SS, but no problem with MD simple burner.
  4. I have the exact same problem and SS simply hangs every time I try to transfer more than one album to my RH910. I use SS 3.3 and Win XP Home SP2. I can't remember if IE has been opened and maybe I'll give a try next time.
  5. Even SS3.3 cannot rip all copy-protected CDs, though MD Simple Burner seems to able to do so. FOr HDD walkman, you may try to rip the CDs (using other programs like iTunes) to .wav and then convert to mp3/ATRAC.
  6. Sorry if this sounds dumb, but how do we know if the volume level is at 25/30? I have a RH910 and all I've got is a vol bar.
  7. Does this player has a line-out mode to connect to an external amplifier? How about EH-50?
  8. Sadly, HiMD is unable to support most of new bitrates esp I am looking for some bitrates between 256 and 64 kbps. I presume the Sony network walkman can support these.
  9. But I've read somewhere here that if you do that you'll lose gapless playback even when the files are converted to Atrac, correct?
  10. I finally got the RH910 as the shop offers me 10% discount off their marked price. Anyway, thx for all the advice here!!
  11. I'm in Hong Kong (south of Mainland China), and so I guess online ordering is not an option as the shipping cost will be quite high. RH10/RH910 are really the two only models (possibly the last models) that are available here. I'm not too keen to have the capability to record in std SP/LP2/LP4 as my bookshelf mini can still do that. Thx for the tips about the software. Very likely I will purchase one of these soon. cheers
  12. Hi, I'm new here so please bear with me. I'm considering to get a new MD player (to replace my MD portable used for several years, due to various problems popped up from time to time) and the only available players in the market (I mean, in where I live) are RH10 and RH910. I never used netMD before so need some advice. a. From the ATRACLife forums, I've read some rather poor comments/remarks on Sony software. What software do RH10/RH910 use? Sonicstage? Are they stable for transferring music? b. Are they using USB 1.1 or 2.0? If 1.1, will music transfer be too slow? c. Is it still a good time to buy either of this, as they were released for some time and Sony may release new products in a few months time. Btw, any views on the price in my local shops (RH10 = US$294, RH910 = US$230)? Thx in advance.
