  1. I think that may be the solution to my problem, as when I was on the train today I could hear the ambient noises, when I am in my house however it seems loud enough. Only problem is I don't have alot of money left for canalphones, can you or anyone else recommend a good set for a good price or point me in the direction of a bargain. The best I have seen (value VS quality) is the seinheiser CX300's for £30. I wouldn't mind a set of Shures but they are way beyond my budget. Apart from the volume issue AND the Track FastFWD/Rewind seek times the NH900 is an excellent machine, I can't wait to try out recording on Scotland's best Pink Floyd tribute band next month
  2. I just got my nh900 this morning and before I went to work I listened to some of my music at full volume 30/30 (it is most unsatisfactory). When I got home I did the euro-hack (A1 -> S25), no problems thanks to good instructions (thanks guys) however there dosen't seem to be any massive increase in volume. Probably this question has been asked before, but my searches have yielded no results and this seems like the most appropriate thread for this question: Do the US/Euro/Japanese versions of the NH900 have different circuitry (headphone amp) I know the Euro version is meant to be firmware modded to reduce output to 3.2mW(I think), but is it a hardware issue as well as I was under the impression that all of them were the same. Thanks for any help that anyone can provide with this subject. Please note: There has been an increase in volume just not what I expected. My MZ-N1 seems much louder.
  3. I would like to wish both Kurisu & Jadeclaw a MASSIVE Happy Birthday..... Don't get too drunk (if you like a tipple, and are old enough) and have a GREAT time, your birthday is always a good time to let loose.
  4. I second that, anybody fluent in Japanese/or who is Japanese and has some spare time, please translate... Looks like a really interesting article, it would be nice to know exactly what goes through the developers head when they develop something like the RH1.
  5. Same here, and I was looking for a while just out of curiousity. I don't expect a big launch for this one in the UK. I think it will be marketed as a specialist item.
  6. I agree with with everyone above you really should have done at least a little research. I am not a big fan of Sony Customer Services, but at least they bought the unit back instead of leaving you high and dry with an incompatible unit.
  7. Listening to: Children Of Bodom - Hatebreeder (1999) whilst waiting for my NH900 to turn up (Today Sometime ----- Hurry Up !!) Congrats on 200th post Skradgee
  8. I am pretty sure that the difference in USB standard makes no difference as the read/write speeds of the Hi-MD standard don't break the USB 1.1 threshold. Summarily, it won't make a difference. Someone confirm this please.
  9. Ahhhhwwww..... Some people have all the luck. Enjoy your RH1 in BLACK !!! Drool
  10. I found: A Black NH900 with 6 old style Hi-MD discs Thought someone might be interested. Located in the UK starting @ £1.
  11. Congratulations Ray !! It seems like you have a small army there
  12. Cheers guys, what a friendly bunch you all are! Much appreciated. Lol I have rewarded my arrival into my mid-twenties (sigh) with a new NH900, still waiting for it though! Bobt --- My favourite short is "Shadow Over Innsmouth" H.P. Lovecraft, what an imagination that guy had. Jaylen --- Your opinion is of help, thanks. Also thanks to stuge, rayzray, skradgee. I will try to post more in future !!!!! LONG LIVE MINIDISC !!!!!
  13. I just bought a Brand New(with the full 12 month warranty) MZ-NH900 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...me=STRK:MEWN:IT , unfortunately it is the silver version. I would really have preffered to get the black version, it looks so much better. But for just now I will have to do with the silver one It cost me all of £95, which I think isn't bad for the piece of mind the 12 month warranty gives. I know for £60+ more I could maybe have got a RH10, but my budget is stretched enough as it is (my bank balance is testimony to this) and the NH900 does everything I need it to. I can't wait for it to arrive (I hate the anticipation of waiting for something new). Luckily it is delivered by NEXT-DAY (but that means Tuesday because of bank holidays here in the UK I had just bought a MZ-N1 off eBay that was listed as in "perfect working order", when I got it it had the infamous Blank Disc error, just my luck. the NH900 should compensate nicely
  14. SOLD To my brother, it was alot quicker and easier then selling to anyone else. Thanks for your interest.
  15. I got mine for £28 on eBay with 16 Minidiscs and 2 spare NiMH cells. I love MD players, and when I can afford it I will switch to a Hi-MD capable of MP3 playback. I could have bought a 1GB mp4/mp3 Chinese iPod nano replica for £45 but they are so small I WOULD break it, trust me and they can't record.... So until I earn my fortune its plain old MD for me. [edit] Just noticed this post is >18 months old, I found it when I was searching for "MZ-N1", please forgive me admins, lol
