silvermachine
Sonic Stage 2.3 on my PC at work wont let me transfer files from the MD onto the computer, saying that this is not the original source PC. Is there any way round this as sometime it's handy to edit my MDs when I'm at work, and for backups etc. Thanks for your help.Chris
SlowMo
no, that is not faster than realtime. -drm limitations...you can however record in realtime using total recorder or similar progs, but this is not very appropriate to your situation, since it takes a lot of time, and you would have to go through another lossy compression, when you´re putting it back on your md. (unless you use pcm as sound format on your md)with backups, you mean having your music on your "at work pc" as well ? i´d suggest you use the external storage function of your md to transfer your files (makes only sense, if you´re having your sound in mp3, of course... dex Otaku
You cannot copy from MDs to a computer digitally using SonicStage. netMD is limited to downloading only. There is [currently] no such thing as uploading from an MD.HiMD does support uploading, but only with tracks recorded on the units themselves. Tracks transferred to HiMD discs with SonicStage or Simple Burner cannot be uploaded.

frederick
Can one use an iMac with an Md? I'm interested in recording live music and editing on an iMac.
dex Otaku
Sony's software is Window-only, however..MD does not upload [transfer -to- a computer] in ANY case, andHiMD does upload, but has no Mac support. You can of course use etiher with any computer or editing system by transferring the analogue way. If you have a quality sound card/adapter, the loss incurred is really not an issue.

I wonder if there will be Mac support amongst others, Marc?I have a problem right now, I have recorded tracks from the radio (line-in) which I stil want to edit on the HiMD unit (MZ-NH1) but as I have already uploaded them using SonicStage 2.2 and then with HiMDrenderer converted them to flac / wav (while SS was running) and deleted the OMA files from within SS, I still get a 'TRK FROM PC' -error when I want to add track marks! Really annoying. So what should I do? How can I tell SS that I have destroyed copies on the PC and that SS tell my HiMD to quit nagging with TRK from PC?Thanks!Paul
deafplayer
is it possible to burn a bunch of ATRAC 3+ files onto a CD-R, using SS or not (whichever might work), then import those to your SS library without copying them to your HD so that you can transfer them from the CD to a Hi-MD through SS? dex Otaku
And what about HiMDrenderer? I wonder if there will be Mac support amongst others, Marc?HiMDRenderer would not be useful on a Mac, since it still depends on having the tracks uploaded and stored in SonicStage.I have a problem right now, I have recorded tracks from the radio (line-in) which I stil want to edit on the HiMD unit (MZ-NH1) but as I have already uploaded them using SonicStage 2.2 and then with HiMDrenderer converted them to flac / wav (while SS was running) and deleted the OMA files from within SS, I still get a 'TRK FROM PC' -error when I want to add track marks! Really annoying.Import the WAV files into SonicStage after havnig edited and split them as you wish, then put them on another disc. Or - import the WAV files into SS and use its split/combine features, then put them on another disc.So what should I do? How can I tell SS that I have destroyed copies on the PC and that SS tell my HiMD to quit nagging with TRK from PC?To my knowledge, you can't. You can only put the edited copies that you have as WAV files onto another disc.

It even asked, whether to copy the files to the hard drive first and I said no.

pmvn
Why are you using Sonicstage 2.1? Upgrade to 3. ←Yeah upgrade upgrade, and software gets bulkier and bulkier (and sometimes even more stupid)I'll see what the benefits are.... probably no muchBecause when you design a perfect product, nobody will buy upgrades something BillG knows for very long now...
