Not sure if this is right place for this, but here goes.

I've been using my RH-10 in the field. I find the ergonomics better than NH-900 - the menus seem easier to access, track selection, FFWD and REV are easier to use, the bar graphs for recording level, volume and position in the track are all an improvement. And at dusk or in dimly-lit situations the display is easily visible and a big improvement on the NH-900.

BUT in normal daylight, the display is almost invisible. In this respect the NH-900 is much better.

So, if you'll be using an RH-10 indoors or in dark condtions - its great. If your use will mainly be outdoors in daylight - you could be disappointed. Try before you buy?

I've noticed the display being semi-unreadable only in direct sunlight and at certain angles. Nothing a hand blocking the sun can't help, in other daylight conditions I don't have trouble reading the display.

I noticed some noise when the player load data to buffer and a bug with the titling section, there are missing characters.

I think somebody already mentioned this in another thread, but the "missing" characters aren't really missing, they're just off to the right of the screen where you can't see them! You can still select them, you just have to count your button pushes. Stupid Sony! -Steve

I was noticed that too. Kinda freaked me out a little till I clicked over into the dark side of the alphabet.

Oh well, what I title on the fly, I always go back and retitle on my PC. Betatest Sony, Betatest!

I have noticed a problem with the RH10 and mp3's encoded below 46kbs. It gives the cannot play error on the MD when sent staright over, and will not convert to ATRAC3+ before transfer in sonicstage. You have to manually convert them to ATRAC3+ without transfering; find the files in the optimized file folder(.omg format); then load them back into sonicstage.

I'm working on finding a faster way of repairing low mp3 encodes, but for now i'm just reencoding them into higher bitrates using dBpowerAMP Music Converter.

I'm finding a lot of podcasts with very low bitrates out there, but 48+ seem to work ok.

Using the service hack to switch the profile from 21 to 24 restores the "missing" letters. I'm still not quite sure what I'm giving up by switching the profile from US/Canada to whatever this is (Japanese?); haven't found any missing features yet... -Steve

As far as I could tell, I lost editing capability with the 24 hack. I was able to retitle some MDLP discs I had recorded a while ago, but I had none on HiMD discs except for disc title. When I went back to 21 I could retitle, but the alphabet was "missing" letters.
