Question

Hi!

I'm a new owner of the NW-A 3000. My first impressions of the unit are good. But I notice a slight noise on my headphones starting the MP3. But I think it's not part of the files.

I read somewhere the noise to signal ratio of the headphone amplifier would be around 86 dB and for the Line out at 96 dB. Is that really good in comparison to competitors? I think my MZ-NH 1 had less noise on the headphones...

Have you any experiences? Do you know test reagrding sound quality?

Greetings

Michael

As far as Sound Quality of A3000 is much better than 5g I-pod ..A3000 has more bass than 5G I-Pod ..

NOTe -I TRIED BOTH OF THEM FOR AROUND FOR 3-4 DAYS..

I don`t have much idea about tests for Sound quality but its a technical thing..

I my opinion it is better to trust your ears .

You sure it isnt the noise of the hard disk? I get a small noise whenever my HD5 is accessing the hard disk. It doesnt bother me. If you are not sure what I mean, press menu from when the unit is switched off, and you will hear a slight noise through the earphones. It stops when the unit isnt 'accessing the hard disk' anymore.

It's only when I start the Mp3s but not resulting of the MP3 itself, because it is not growing if I higher the volume. But if you hear music with very silent parts you notice it.

Hard Disk of A3000 also makes noise when it starts or when a song is played ( like tick...) but its normal

I am listening to my NW-A3000 now but I have heard no strange noises. The only noise other then music it should make is a beep when you press the buttons. I think it is like three short beeps in a row. For example when a song is playing and you skip to the next or skip to the previous it will make these three beeps... very short. I did not hear any HDD activity noises while listening to the player.
