Sparky191
HiMD has more features, more capacity, better unti all round, but is more expensive, and subjectively not as well made. NH1 being the exception.
starfish
thanks for your response.if i accept the limitations- no mp3 support- lower disc capacity- drm issueswould you say the mz-n10 is a more durabe (well made) unit?are the hi-md units as compact and feather weight as the mz-n10? mercury_in_flames
dude, first choose whether you want the technology at all. Theres no point in getting himd imo if you arent sure whether to get another net md or himd. If it were me, i would get a chunky low end himd, and get a hi end player. If thats the case a Flash Based MP3 player might be better.
starfish
well those are important issues to me, but within the scope of an md player. i am not interested in an mp3 player. i wish to record first and foremost. so i will just see how it goes with this model.thanks! Sparky191
Well for me recording, a HiMD has a better range of recording options. You have PCM and a massive recording endurance, if using HiSP or other bitrates on a 1GB disk. Nothing worse than running out of space when recording. AMPlitude
i agree with greg, because very, very few units regardless of price can match the size of the n10, so you might want to check out a low end and then buy a eh1 or such player

veezhun
nh1 comes pretty damn close.. records legacy formats.. and hi md..best md recorder is today is the rh10/m100.... excellent OLED screen.. all the inputs. AA attachment..
raintheory
As for recording purposes... You can upload your live recordings to your PC with HiMD players (digitally). NetMD players you would have to record via analogue in realtime through your soundcard.
sonic_rage
i also have an N10. great little, high end netMD. i've also made the switch to Hi-MD and bought a low end NH600D.i'm quite pleased with the hi-md's performance, extra features like 6 band equalizer, higher capacity, data storage capabilities and works great with the remote from the N10. the low end plasticky Hi-MDs seem to be very durable and light as a feather, most of the weight is from the AA battery. Cant go wrong with the NH600D, which is under 100$ US brand new or about 60US for a used one on ebay.
