Question

Hi,

I've been the proud owner of a shiny new NWA3000B since Thursday, and so far I love it. Although I'm currently unable to use CONNECT as my PC is rubbish and old, but SonicStage 3.3 is working fine (if veeery slowly).

Anyway, I just have a couple of questions about minor issues that I'm hoping someone can help me with.

Firstly, is there any way to re-arrange track orders of albums etc once they've been transferred to the player? A couple of my albums seem to have been transferred with some songs in the wrong place, but so far I can't see any way on the player or in SS to re-order them...? I'm hoping there is, cause I don't really fancy having to delete them from the player and re-transfer them in the right order!

Secondly, is there any way to display the time remaining rather than time elapsed during playback on the player...? It's not as important as the track ordering thing, but it'd be nice if there's the option to do it.

Thanks a lot

I use Connect Player (CP), so I am not sure it is same for Sonic Stage 3.3 (SS3).

Anyway, if you view property of a song from CP, there is a slot for CD Track #, which you may change. This will fix your problem in CP. Hopefully it is same for SS3.

ok, I tried on SS3.3.

Highlight the song, and view property. There is Track # section, simply type in the track number for respective songs.

This will fix your song order, so you don't have to delete and reload songs.

You canm rearrange songs via Sonic Stage ver3.3 ...Connect you player to your computer.

2.)Open Sonic Stage ver3.3

3.)Click on "Atrac Audio Devices" under Transfer tab..

4.)Then Let click on the Song(which you wnat to rearrange) Keep it pressed.(Don`t release it then Drag & drop Song to the album you needed (Inside the player )

No, only time elapsed for now sadly, play time remaining I guess can be kind of guessed from the bar that is above the time, albiet not very accurate.

Small pointer, I learned this the hard way, before doing any transfers or imports into CP, recheck all your ID tags for your mp3s, and change and add as many fields as possible. This will help you in the long run since when importing things will look more organized and less all over the place.

Also if you want, this was described by a member on the board, open CP, turn on the 2 options that link the program to the next in the options panel, internet. Turn on artist link background and the other one. Leave CP open all night, the program will try to update some, if not all the id tags with gracenote. Then the artist link should function more often.

The think with CP is that it has artist, and album artist, meaning, if the artist is different but the album artist are the same they will be grouped in the same folder in CP when the albums are the same as well. I've had a lot of doubles in CP because of a different album artist.

does anyone find it odd that Hold can't be engaged when the player is off? I have a nwa3000 and i'm worried about it starting while its in my pocket so i tried to put hold on but the button doesn't do anything, does that happen to anyone else?

and is there any way to make the player stop playing after its played all the tracks in the selection? I like listening to music when I go to sleep but i want it to turn off after a while and from what i can see once the player gets to the end of the playlist it just starts again, is there any way around that?

Hold can be actually engaged when the player is off, how come it was turned on when you got your player? ie out of the box? both my A1000 and A300 had theirs turned on.

Once you are done listening to your songs, pause the song or if the player is stopped, press the hold button for a few seconds, hold will turn on and then let the player turn off. the hold will remain on, to unhold it, press play, and it will show you, hold is on, then press and hold the hold key to remove the hold function.

hmm, perhaps you have repeat turned on so that is why the playlist just starts again?

no it wasn't that.... i just let an album play all the way through and it turned off.

before i had tried just skipping through all the tracks, because i'm used to the way my MD treats skipped tracks as played, so if you skip through all the tracks then the player stops. with the nwa3000 i was skipping indefinitely, even songs i had already skipped.

thanks for the hold tip definitely.

cheers

For hold whilst off it takes a little simple understanding. First, turn on the player, make sure nothing is playing. Secondly, goto the home menu, you don't actually have to but it helps prevent anything playing whilst you operate hold. Lastly, pres and hold the hold button until hold is on and then leave you player alone. If nothing is playing the player shuts itself down and hold will still be on. That's the actual way of puttin it into hold whilst being turned off. The way they do it at the factories is the player will already be formatted with hold turned on so that when it is turned on for the first time it will say hold is on. That's the most likely way they do it.
