I'm gonna by off minidisco or audiocubes (haven't decided yet) and I need to know. Why is the MC35ELK priced 10 bucks higher than the MC33EL? What advantages does the 35elk have over 33el? bland10000 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Share Posted November 24, 2005 The 35 has two things different from the 33. First, the "k" in elk means it is capable of displaying kanji. The second difference is the 35 has a higher resolution and can display two lines at once but you have to have a unit that will work with the two display line. What are these animations for and are there any on the 33el?And before I forget I have another question. On either of these 2 remotes, if I want to listen to a certain song (out of currently 244 on my 1gb disc) how would I go about finding it? Are they "ultra-cool"? No, not in the least. Once you watch them you will forget about them. Remember these are animations on an led screen so it is not like watching a cartoon. I've never met anyone who wanted to show off their remote animations and people forget their remote even has them because the animations are inconsequential. Nor have I ever seen anyone on the bus or train spend any time watching the things.The 33 does have some when you change play mode and adjust the eq.[edit] the 33 and 35 both have a button that allows you to move ahead or behind by 10 tracks. On the 600D I can go into search mode to search by track (in ABC order) and search by artist. And I can only go through 1 or 10 tracks at a time? And when I am looking for other tracks, do they start playing immediately, or is there a way to "browse" like on hte 600D itself? The functionality of the remote depends on the unit it is connected to. So on both of these remotes you should be able to access the Search function by going into the menu and then "Useful". As for browsing you can't do this (I assume you mean viewing the tracks ahead whilst still listening to the current track) - this is only possible on the RM-MC40ELK. I think this is the best deal you can find without going through eBay. The best on eBay is $63 from Buyfromjapan but then you have to add in shipping.
