i can't imagine that! they did mention a switch.

i think they are trying to un-clutter my room/studio; but, i use both PC's at the same time:

like, i can be on the forum on one and editing a DVD on the other; how can you do that with ONE screen?

clutter is GOOD; editing i should; and re-mix i could; it's my livelihood! misunderstood sometimes.

I have a KVM somewhere. You basically use a keyboard combo to switch between the two. Mine used "ctrl+space bar" to switch between the two. It works.

i am fortunate;

my piano students give me their "Hand-me-downs" & install all kinds of Goodies in my two PC; it never costs me a cent/penney'nada-dango????

there are experimental thing in my PC's that i don't enev know about; it's probably hidded in the "un-accessible part" you know the "ADMINISTRATOR PART".!

i am only allowed so mucn head room before i hang myself.

perhaps a KVM would be like a loaded gun for me.

like;; they set it up so anything on my screen goes to my A/V Mixing board and into my video projects.

soooo;; that means if i have TWO screens;; i can quickly go from one screen to the other and instantly have it show up on my A/V mixer/monitor?

sooo;; if i have two or three KVM's; i can add about 6 more scenes to my alteadt 5 or 6 scenes i already have.

Cool.!

I still don't have alot of my stuff from Maryland, but things are shaping up nicely. Was thinking about putting my sd-nx10 there or something else. There's a cable outlet right next to the desk, so I'm really tempted to play with that.

i woud rather have those (TWO speakers) in glass than ANY 5.1 system in the world!

i have yet to position myself right in a 5.1 set-up. i HATE them.

it's like being tied to a tree; with a cigar in your mouth!

Give me two speackers any day;; and matter of fact; EVERY GLASS bling bling i buy;; it breaks somehow; so let's make that glass one with the blue lights; a nice wooden one (real wood) and buy a set of blue "rope Lights" that blink and "Run" in patterns like i have.

*Blue on Blue; the mash-up version playing* and a cup of Starbuck's coffee+; weeee!

yes those glass ones are nice though; can you immagine some ants getting in there? or; a spider making a webb. ? you can't see it in a wooden speaker; but wtf; HOW do you get them out of this one?!

I'll have to say Amen to that one. I;ve only been round 1 surround sound system but i hated the fact that you had to move around to be just right. With 2 speakers its so simple, you just sit ur ass down and ur set to watch ur movie, stuff the rest :ok:

Well.. after getting a monitor with 1 dead pixel, I asked for a replacement.,,and i got one, finally, now i can be proud of my baby :lol::lol:

i (rayzray) is, (am), was, well i was down-sizing; trying to claim realestate back so i could at least rotate on my Computer chair. Rotate is very important when you are my age.

but, then i start to watch my rock DVD's and listen to my Tull Fan trades and get lost in the mess about me.

one more DJ job left before retirement and then i can finish something here and maybe post a new shot of my (rayzray)'s studio/room with me (rayzray) skateboarding in da middle of my realestate.!!

My work area at home is complete with a beer 'fridge which, at present, is fermenting ten gallons of a brand new Oktoberfest beer.

[attachmentid=1837]

So in my spare time I made up a label for this beer, which was inspired by a friend of mine who is a WWII buff and suggested the name...

nice label; doesn't the fridge motor interfere with your audio stuff; recording and all that? i had to have a separate AC line put in and filtered.

my cousin brews beer; BIG time; it takes his whole garage. you are allowed to brew just soooo much of da stuff; and wine too. (or, do i have that back-wards).

so, exactly what room is you set-up in?

I haven't noticed any interference from the 'fridge. My home office is in the basement. I don't do any recording down here, though I do all my editing here, make DVDs, etc. Never considered the possibility of interference from the 'fridge, but never have noticed any.

I do most of my brewing outside on the deck. For the first time in many years, I am brewing a lager (the Oktoberfest) which requires cooler, controlled temperatures. It's too warm around here this time of year for that, so I plug the 'fridge into a controller/thermostat which lets me dial whatever temperature I want...which in this case will be 54°F for two weeks, then dial it down to about 35°F to lager for six more weeks.

In the US we are are allowed to brew 100 gallons of beer per household adult, up to a max. of 200 gallons per household per year. That's roughly the equivalent of 40 cases...I've only come close to that one time. No restrictions on wine that I am aware of.

Here is my primary beer 'fridge, in the laundry room right next to my office.

There's nuthin' in the world that gets the Spousal Units to shaking their heads, like taking a drill and a hole saw to a brand new refrigerator and drilling holes in it for beer. They just don't get it. But to my credit, she generally knows where I am and who I'm with, my beer-brewing friends are her friends as well, and more often than not we're doing our beer drinking right here.

Just so you get the full picture, here's a snapshot of the *inside* of that 'fridge with four 5-gallon beer kegs. The CO2 line runs through the side of the 'fridge to the CO2 tank which sits on top.

lol brilliant. hmm thats got me thinking, i shud get a hole made into my matress so that i can take a leak through the hole and send the wee to the toilet instead of having to get up when im in bed  reckon it will catch on? (j/k)

exactly; i have the same thoughts almost nightly; and i think we are on the same wavelegnth.

i have the same urge to add tanks in the car and van for long trips; why stop; just keep driving.

seeing these pics; i have had many ideas travel through my head.

tubes and tanks to take in and send out liquids.

i just hope the TUBES coming and going don't get mixed up!!

and; while i am at it; i need a Hi-MD unit installed in all this tubular gear that i can listen to that cancells my wife's car radio off/out; but, still can hear her talk and ask me questions.

eveytime she asks a question; i have to take the bud out and say "what"?

a series of "Tubes and Wires and Tanks would be a great project; EXCEPT when i get stopped and SHOT for looking like a terrorist with all this gear in the car/van.

oh, to be OT, my van is an official work area; i have all the gear necessary to record, play; A/V via MD's, Hi-MD's; DVD's CD's (both record and play), cassettes, and, even a turntable for ppl that haven't heard of technology.

There are two...the top one (VHS) is a cheap ($60) GE model from Wal-Mart. The bottom one is a Sony "Super Beta" Hi-Fi job. Still works, and every so often I come across an old Beta tape that I want to record into the computer and convert to DVD.

Ahh...you're a young 'un. "Back in the day", Sony's Betamax was said to have the better technology, whereas the VHS crowd had better marketing. We know who won...kind of like Sony's Minidisc vs. MP3 players, iPods, etc. There just weren't enough Beta "purists" to keep up the fight, and Sony had to cave. [but I still vividly recall Sony saying that it would not abandon its Beta fan base...] And to be truthful, from what I could tell when we broke down and bought our first VHS machine, there was no discernable difference in picture quality anyway (which might be a function of the fact that we always had crap TVs B) ). For a brief time, I seem to recall that when Beta was in its death spiral, Sony still had a price advantage with its models with stereo sound, as VHS models with stereo sound were still very expensive. But that didn't last long.

Our first two VCRs were Betamax...the first was an NEC brand which we bought with wedding money (1984, so I'm telling my age a bit), and the Sony model I still have is the second. But, I got the message when studios started cutting back on the number of titles released on Beta...then shortly thereafter all the rental stores stopped carrying them altogether, and the Beta holdouts like me were hosed.

yah, its identical to minidisc and mp3 players. although, minidisc has been around for quite a while and you can still buy all kinds of gear for em at bestbuy here in brampton. hopefully minidisc will stay alive, its a good format imo. you can get better quality than that of mp3 or aac imo as well.

run it out by using the click wheel loads, or just leave it playing over night. Given the battery life of those things normally isnt more than 12 hours at best you'll have it ready to charge by the morning.

heh yah, thats what im gonna do. i think the battery does last more than 12 hours though. i had it going for a lot longer than 10 at one point. i went about a full month without ever even pluggin it in and i used it about a half hour everyday.
