My Wish for Sony

This is my wish for Sony. :) I know its a futile effort, but I want to post it anyway. I wish Sony would come out with a Hi-MD unit that has all the great features of playback, but no recording features needed other than the PC to Hi-MD unit. :-D Why would I love this? Because I'm strictly a Hi-MD lover for the portable music aspect, and I don't feel there are as many good Hi-MD players, as there were NetMD players. It seems like we had such a huge selection of NetMD players to choose from, with massive features for playback, good looks, and no need for Live recording. I'd like to see a few more units like that come to the Hi-MD side.

Does anyone have any suggestions, that would give me the right price point for the playback? I currently own a 600D and while it does everything I need it too, i wish it was a little more attractive looking, with at least a back lit display for night time. :-D

I only use MD for playback too and agree with you. I own an RH10 (was able to get it for $30 in an exchange) but in reality, most people will have to pay over 250 bucks for it. If sony came out with some rh10-like units with no recording features at say, $150, that would be a good plan. MZ-RH10D anyone?

I too, want a unit like it which plays mp3's properly. Flash memory is still too expensive, and I personally have zero need for recording, only playing. I've also heard the saying "If you want an mp3 player, get an mp3 player, minidisc is for recording."

I'm sure a unit like this will never ever exist by the time I need portable music. I'm opting for a car stereo with a USB port instead, as the car is the only place I'll be needing portable music.

Sony should first tell the meaning to MZ ???? :P

Haha, no doubt. Don't think we ever got a real answer other than, "no meaning."

Another download-only unit would be cool. Especially for us users who aren't hardcore field recorders. Or, heh, this is stretching it, but ... bluetooth.
