KumaBlind
I love Sony to death. I've stuck with them ever since I bought my first Playstation, and after that I went on a rampage of Sony products, however I also have to say that their cameras aren't that great. >__> But anyway, I was just wondering why Sony does this? They recieve plenty of constructive feedback, yet they do nothing about it, and continue adding small improvements to their items thinking people will forget about the big problems. They don't market their items very well, when it would be fairly easy to. They could design even better products if they listened to the suggestions by the consumers, and they have what it takes to go far, but to me it sometimes seems as if they're putting effort into making sure they fall farther behind other companies. I avidly love Sony's product style, but they're not doing anything to promote it. I wouldn't back other corporations such as iPod-Microsoft or whatever else is out there, because I prefer Sony, but I have to admit, some of their products are inferior. I wish they'd get on the band wagon and do what it takes to get ahead.
rayzray
i (rayzray) have given up all hope for Sony; am looking for other avenues; and other interests; non- Sonyish.yes, they are missing the boat; seems like their interpreters are not telling them what we their customers want.there is a communication's gap somewheres.it's too bad; but f*ck them; they will soon be the outkasts of the industry.perhaps someday when we are all on ANOTHER board talking about our future bling blings; we can mention the distant past and the name "Sony".and the future generation will say; "Sony"? ; what's that? i never heard of that; is it a vacuum cleaner?! Sony fear 'damaging' their game/movie/tv interests by designing hardware that supports fair use and common sense. Which is a very different from what they were once upon a time, supporting the right to record broadcasts on VCR, etc. They have basically switched focus, and now it's time to (what they see as) 'protect' their core assets:Sony Computer EntertainmentSony Entertainment TelevisionSony Pictures..etc.Of course this often means castrating their hardware. Not offering TV-OUT on the PSP, DRMing the market out of MiniDisc, etc.I avidly love Sony's product style, but they're not doing anything to promote it. In all fairness, Sony are the kings of hype. It's just that it's hard to hype a turd (DRM'd MiniDisc). Until recently, that is. And that's still considering the steaming pile of crap that SonicStage still is. Too late for many to see it as anything different, though.I wouldn't back other corporations such as iPod-Microsoft or whatever else is out there, because I prefer Sony, but I have to admit, some of their products are inferior. I wish they'd get on the band wagon and do what it takes to get ahead.By buying Sony products - even when common sense (or research) tells you you'd be better off with something else - it's just like telling them "yes, keep producing garbage. I will pay". The best thing you can do to elicit change is take your business elsewhere (and maybe influence one or two friends along the way). It's too bad nobody else makes Hi-MD portables (let alone offers them for AU$99-$
Richard
So which Sony products in particular are you unhappy with?
