fatmuttony
I was just browsing through the RH1 manual again, and I noticed that under the Format function, it has notes that says: The Format Function:When formatting a disc:When I disc is formatted, the number of transfer authorizations for the transferred track is as follows:For 1 GB Hi-MD discs, the number of transfer authorizations for the transferred tracks is restored when the disc is inserted and the recorder is connected to the computer. For 60/74/80-minute standard discs, the number of transfer authorizations for transferred tracks decreases by one. To prevent the reduction, restore the transfer authorization by transferring the tracks to the computer again before formatting the disc. What the heck does that mean in English? Is there something that one needs to do before formatting a disc? This is different for 1GB discs and 80 min discs? (I have both)Please help. philpem
I read that as: - If you format an MD disc that has DRM'd music (i.e. stuff from CONNECT) on it, you'll lose the transfer authorisations that were used to transfer that music to the disc. - If you format a HiMD disc, the authorisations will be restored to the computer when you next hook the RH1 up to the PC with the newly formatted disc in the drive.Dunno, maybe I've got it wrong? So, if I don't use Connect there's no problem right? MP3s on my computer that I import and transfer to an MD disc (80 min) won't be affected?
