Fusionsound
Hi everyone, well i was using my Sony Minidisc Deck MDS-JE510 by recording some good mixes. But i've been running into a lot of problems. First i left the minidisc in the deck overnight and erased all my music. Then today i went to record on it, and i keep getting errors with my discs, and i've used 3 different ones. Could it be because i'm using 80 minute discs instead of 74? Skradgee
Hi Fusionsound,I don't think 80 minute discs vs. 74 minute discs have anything to do with your problem, although I could be wrong...I've never owned the deck that you have. It could be that there is a problem with the optical unit in your machine. If a disc cannot properly save the information at the end of recording when the stop button is pressed (or when the disc runs out of recording time), then the 'blank disc' message may appear on the screen. The disc may not really be blank, but if the deck is unable to correctly read the TOC on the disc, then it will default to that message.Try using several different discs until you find one that works. If you can't find a working one, then your deck may not be working anymore. Could you post some more information about the problems you're having? Maybe we could offer some more insight.Oh, and here's a link to the minidisc.org page for your deck. I hope this has been some help.http://www.minidisc.org/part_Sony_MDS-JE510+S38.html

ATELETRONICS
i have that deck. i like it. use 80 min disks all the time. you could try to clean the laser. i noticed a problem with mine. if th temp in the room goes over 100 degrees farenheit the unit does not record correctly. it also has a dirty eject switch- sometimes you have to tap on the unit to get the disk out.
