Just a few things i need cleared up first.

MZ-E10, does this player utilise the Type-S DSP? or does it use Type-R?

The mz-e730 looks alright, but i'm wondering about the thickness of this compared to the e10. As for the EH70, its a hi-md player.. but i'll be playing mostly legacy MDLP discs on it.

So.. in terms of sound quality, which player would sound better? (bearing in mind e10 has a digital amp and e730 and eh70 both feature a HD digital amp).

Thanks in advance.

Neither the manual for the E730 or the E10 specifically mention Type-S DSP but I think they both use it. Type-S being for MDLP tracks only I believe (vs. Type-R for SP/Mono).

The E10 is by far the thinnest & lightest of all the players you mentioned, but for SQ the HD-Amped players should sound a bit better in my experience. The EH1 would be the my choice as it offers the best all round compatibility and great looks. If you definitely don't want Hi-MD then maybe go for the E730 - if you want all out good looks but can live without both Hi-MD and an HD Amp then go for the E10.

You may also want to consider that the EH70 and E730 use Ni-Mh gumstick batteries. The EH1 has a Li-Ion gumstick, and the E10 an internal Li-Ion.

hmm.. a shame that EH1 isn't for sale on audiocubes anymore.

The E730 battery life is something i'd like, 111 hours with AA + gumstick. + its got HD digital amp. But not too sure, the design doesn't really catch my eye :P

I'm throwing between the E10 and EH70 at the moment. Can't seem to resist the E10's beauty lol
