1kyle
Unless there's a need for you to upgrade to SS 4.2 I'd suggest sticking with SS 4.0Transferring SS 4.2 music seems to take AGES (and this is without conversion -- ATRAC Lossless ===> ATRAC Lossless on the device (Sony Flash Player). The only advantage I can see is that 4.2 supports the nice little Sony NW706 and 606 type flash players and will transfer Atrac lossless direct to the players (which also play this format). For MD transfer I'd stick with SS 4.0Cheers-K
Richard
I can't say I've noticed any transfer issues (I have 4.0 and 4.2 on different machines with similar specs), and I'm not trying to be argumentative , but if you are an Onkyo HI-MD user, you will want to upgrade to 4.2 as it fixes the titling issue introduced in 4.0. The Low Volta
I've got 4.2 on a freshly re-installed 3.0GHz HP and together with my RH1 it runs smoothly and pretty fast... mind you, I only upload stuff... wouldn't dream about keeping a library in SS
RoGeR
Hmm... I had this slow transfer problem when I was on SS3.4. Ever since I upgraded to SS4.2, transfer has been very fast with my RH10. The conversion bit is usually the bottleneck for me.
1kyle
Hmm... I had this slow transfer problem when I was on SS3.4. Ever since I upgraded to SS4.2, transfer has been very fast with my RH10. The conversion bit is usually the bottleneck for me.I uninstalled completely SS 4.0 and then re-installed 4.2 again.Transfer speed sems to be fixed now. Maybe something with Windows, conversion algorithm or whateverHowever it's fixed.Cheers-K
