Strungup
I am hoping that Kurisu will give me a premium membership , and a bigger box to put stuff in , in exchange I will upload sound clips From JAPAN YAY! This is a group a 5th and 6th graders , plus parents , at the school where my wife works .Every year they have a festival and I record it . I recorded it in 2006 using my Then Brand new RH1 , and my trusty AT 822 , The SPL'S were way outa control we are talking BIG drums here. Originally the recording was quite muddy , because of the room compression, it was indoors in a room about 30ft wide by 45 long I was at the back of the room , 27 peice Taiko set w/ODaiko (2 of them) SOOOO much BASS............... BOOOM! lot of clipping ( minor but it was there)I imported to Audacity , First thing was to trim the ends , then selcted All and ran the Normalizer set -1 db , then the AU Graphic EQ , lowering the bass , adding some mids and highs to clean it up , the Normalize again to take the EQ generated peaks down , Then EQ again in specific mid fequencies to clarify the stiks and rim hits, and the cowbell. Then normalize again taking the peaks down . Fade in / out on the ends , convert to mp3 , and Now without further ado.......I present the " Dream Storm Taiko Group " Uchiawase!!!!!!!!! Dunno what 5th graders are but they sound good whomever they are.5th grade .........like 11 years old ,,,,, so that makes these kids pretty awesome eh!Just came back from my kids 6th grade graduation ,(in Japan they have Graduation ceremony for Elementary , Middle and High school Nakazawa Shogako , is #2 in the nation , for their music program , and last year My kids class was on TV with Dreams Come True a popular (Liked even by me ,that girl can sing) Pop/R&B group here in Japan , I took along by MZ-B10 instead of a full rig . Kinda kikn myself because the Entire 5th and 6th grade performed four pieces, I will post some of it after I get track marks and everything done in the MD then port it to Audacity . The MZ -B10 is supposed to record in mono from its built in mic , but it sounds like a synthesised stereo , wait til you hear it and tell me what you think . Maybe day after tommorrow or so .Ok Here is one of the songs , three 6th grade classes, roughly 120 -140 kids. This Public school is #2 in the nation for its music program, and the results . I apologize profusely for not taking A full rig to record this. I am kicking myself thouroghly. The song is called "Search for Tommorrow" Without futher ado .For slower connection Edited March 22, 2007 by Guitarfxr

Maybe day after tommorrow or so .I just import the RH1 PCM recordings I make into WAVs on my PC and then enter the track marks with CDWave Editor. It puts the marks on the boundaries. Then I go to FLAC 8. But, using CDWave Editor is so easy as you can see the waveforms and zero right in on where the track mark should be, listen to the sound and put in the track mark. Check it out, it is free to D/L and play with. It is shareware and he promises you are a creep if you use it and do not pay. $15 we can all afford. It can save in WAV, FLAC, MP3, OGG and another format or two. I FLAC 'em separately and MP3 a FLAC if I need to send it out over the Internet.Cheers Edited March 22, 2007 by boojum
Sparky191
Have to say I like CDWave. You can now plug Lame into it too.
Strungup
Nice indeed! I'm glad I took the trouble to download it (28.8kbps!). Patience is a Virtue..... Thx for waitin! How long did it take? And buy the way , scroll back up to the Post with the pics , I posted the MP3 . "Search for Tommorrow" at the bottom of the postI used "SoundRecorder " for Mac OSX , it is a lot like the sound recorder in windows, but it records in QUICK Time .mov format ( wierd huh!) It is very clean neat little prog , no editing or anything . simple as eatin an ice cream cone. On the tool bar select "File" on the drop down Select "Sound Settings" and a window opens the lets you set rec level , and whether to monitor the signal or not , plus you can select whaevr soundcard , or input is available on your computer. The monitoring doesnt have any latency hardly at all, I was impressed with that feature alone, Audacity doesnt monitor all that well. After I recorded , I imported to " Switch" a prog from NCH ( available for Window to I think ) another freebie, it converts anything to anything almost .Also I put up two versions one for a slower connection Edited March 22, 2007 by Guitarfxr

Strungup
so,, there is another version?? better than the mp-3 one i got?? As I said , it was recorded on an MZ-B10 , with its built in mic , I was kicking myself , and yelling at my kid for not telling me it was going to be a BIG production ( He was in the Group singing ) AGGGHHHH , and he didnt tell me to bring any gear What kind of Internet connect are you on. I am on kind of a fast setup ( swap sound files?) and I am on a Macbook .I have XP loaded on Parrallels Desktop , but I keep it hedged , it doesnt connect to the net , doesnt update, or get Viruses. I drag whatever I want to do in windows from the Mac into XP , never from the net .If you look at the pics above the file youll see the B10 sitting in a chair , so a wall of Bodies around it , and all the way at the back of the room. I shouldve taken a Tall monopod , with the AT 822 mounted on it , and the RH1 , wasnt thinking .
