Sony_Fan
So I'm surfing the web trying to find a new MZ-RH1, but all I see is the MZ-M200. It looks like the RH1, but what's the difference? Is it compatible with the U.S. version of SonicStage? Thanks.
raintheory
The only difference AFAIK is the inclusion of a bundled microphone (and the name of course).Fully compatible with SonicStage.
Sparky191
Is there any difference with the Mac software or anything?

Sony_Fan
The only difference AFAIK is the inclusion of a bundled microphone (and the name of course).Fully compatible with SonicStage. So you're saying is that an MZ-M200 = RH1 + Microphone. Why did they have to change the name just because it includes a microphone? So if I get an MZ-M200, it will have all the features of the RH1? sector001
yup, exactly the same features.....except with a mic.
Sony_Fan
yup, exactly the same features.....except with a mic. That's what confuses me. Is the mic attached to the unit, meaning it can't be removed? Or does the mic come seperately so you can plug and remove it?
sector001
the mic isn't built into the unit, u can plug it into the Mic in and remove it when u dont want to do any live recording.
Superbaldguy
It's not a bad deal on the M200 bundle, as the mic costs a bundle by itself......It seems the M200 is the last of the line, folks.
RoGeR
Sony likes to call the model names differently for the US market. Look at their Vaio laptop range and you'll know!
sector001
I guess Sony didn't want to get the two confused, even though it's still the RH1. Some people might not want the bundled mic with it. So as to differniate it apart from the RH1, they gave it another name, which does make sense.
Sony_Fan
the mic isn't built into the unit, u can plug it into the Mic in and remove it when u dont want to do any live recording. So it's the RH1 with a mic. Okay, so how's the MP3 playback? Did they fix that? Does the RH1/M200 have better sound output than previous Hi-MD units? (RH10, RH910, etc). (RH10, RH910, etc). The mp3 playback on the RH1/M200 doesn't have the "low pass filter" type bug that the previous mp3-compatible Hi-MD models did. Now in terms of overall sound quality output, I've heard that the RH1/M200 sounds better than any other Hi-MD model. Can you confirm/agree with this? Can you confirm/agree with this?Sound is subjective, depends on phones and a lot of other things. From what people on the forum have said it is a good "sounding" unit. If you want MEGA VOLUME and MEGA BASS you may need something else, if you want accuracy and fidelity, get the RH1/M200Have funBob
sector001
better hurry and get one before they are all gone........

I'm no longer looking for MEGA BASS, even though everyone should, but it's a 90's thing.
raintheory
Personally I prefer the RH1's sound. I've listened to the same disc on both the RH10 and RH1 and the RH1 seems to have a richer, fuller sound. The RH10 in comparison has a warm sound that isn't quite as sharp as the RH1. But as stated, it's subjective. If you can try one out before purchasing you're better off. Some people prefer the warmer sounding playback versus the richer sound. Is it more thumpy/stronger on the RH1? The lows are just as important as the mids and highs.
