Quicksilver_mx
Hello, it is incredible that Sony at this point takes the determination to leave the users who them have been faithful of always, I for example, I buy like many of you a MZ-RH1, aposte by Sony once again and as is the result, they give the back me, they supply this model to us as I magnify reproductor/grabador (that is it), and now is that when I realize recordings with the RH1 cannot do it nothing but that in PCM with a limited time, since Sony for smaller compressions decided on Atrac, you create you who is right this, as for me Sony is lost to a client and insurance that to many other but. A440
It is not true that you cannot convert ATRAC "from now on." Right now it works as well as it ever has (and I chose that wording carefully). SonicStage on your current computer, with your current operating system, will always be compatible if it is compatible now. Version 4.3 is compatible with the horror that is Vista, and Vista is likely to be the current Windows operating system for at least the next few years. Sony has also said that SonicStage will continue to be updated although Sony will not be selling ATRAC music any more. We will find out if that is true if and when SonicStage needs to be updated for a new operating system. But in the meantime, you have a very useful little recorder and player and a tolerable program that it works with for at least the next few years. So upload your recordings now, when you make them, and you'll be fine. There are now plenty of flash recorders if you prefer to switch. bobzilli
Just rip your own. Wheres the problem? Yeah, I think you're good until your hardware dies (if). No reason for worry as far as i can tell. Now if they come up with an MMD that shows artwork I'd be in heaven
Nate A
garcou, I don't believe Sonic Stage works with Win NT. there's no USB support in NT so even if it did I don't see the point.I'm on NT here and all I can do is analogue recording....now if there was a firewire connection... Everything that ran on them 10yrs ago still runs fine today. Its the same with SonicStage. Its runs on so many OS'es that even in 10yrs time you'll still be able to find an old computer to run it on. Avrin
And don't forget that with a [Hi-]MD recorder you may actually be completely independent from a computer, since it is one of the very few devices that can make high-quality recordings completely on its own (from Mic, Line or Optical In). A computer is just a convenience for fast ripping, transfer, titling, etc.
