Nate A
there was one on ebay listed as a store display unit just a day or two ago and it closed@ $150.00then there was one about 5 min ago too with a Buy it Now @ $85 so I nabbed it ! sorry to tease...I hope to god the battery is in decent shape (not to mention it's tiny mechanicals) cause your notsuposedto be able to change out the battery.I've been looking for one for quite a while...6 months at least. I'd say save a link to an ebay search for it. click that search every day. one will show up.also try craigs list. I found one there on the L.A. list but the seller didn't want to hassel with shipping to Seattle. she only wanted $75.00 and I'd have bumped that to $100 if she'd include shipping for that ammount. when I called her add she was in an airpoart in NYC and she never called me back...oh well.good luck, they are out there. psdiao
Yeah, saw a couple on eBay USA but the sellers didnt want to ship to Aus. Nabbed a N10 which i'm happy with, but I'll keep an eye out for an E10.
theblueraja
Also not to brag, but I managed to acquire TWO in the past couple weeks on Ebay, and one other a few months ago via Ebay. This unit is not as rare as many highly wanted HiMD players like the EH1, so with a little patience you'll have one within 4 months for sure. kino170878
That UK one is listed as faulty, so be careful.I also was interested in this smart little player, but there are a number of things that put me off. The biggest complaint I have is the proprietory remote, once its broken or lost forget it you won't be able to use a different remote and they're very expensive to buy. You can do so much with that little toggle switch, you'd be surprised. Here is my full review of the MZ-E10 if you haven't seen it.Another thing is if you're worried about the remote, just buy a backup unit, then you'll have two OR... like this current faulty unit on Ebay, buy THAT just for the remote alone, it probably won't get too expensive with that error issue. psdiao
Thanks for the tip. Been out of the MD game for a while since only the NH1 was released in Aus. Disappointed I missed out on the EH1, importing off yahoo japan is a bit of a rip off, importing from the UK is a bit more managable (especially language wise) but the exchange rate isnt great. I'll see if I can get the faulty unit for a reasonable price, even though optical errors can be incredibly hard to fix. I wouldn't hesitate to get a mint one, time will tell.

I'm feeling pritty lucky, I knew as I took the Buy it Now there could be another guy just a few keystrokes behind me looks like I got a pritty good deal too....hopefully. the seller is shipping saturday so I ought to know by wensday or so. I'll never bring this to my work except to show it to the pod people with their bulky lumps. my NH1 is still playing great despite the dusty metal shop I use it in.BR, how do you like that thin Panasonic unit you bought a little while back ? I haven't tryed any non Sony MD units. I still hit that search on ebay too.

Nate A
no, this is the one I took.http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=150209489797if you look at the closing date for the sale, it pre dates my first comment on this thread. my second comment when I posted the link to the current auction, that's the one I pointedout to Psdiao for his concideration.I haven't visited the MD forums for a month or two, I saw this on ebay, took it and figured I'd stop by the forums. I saw Psdiao's thread and commented...this comment :another guy just a few keystrokes behind me was pointed at YOU, as whenever I surf ebay for MD units I figure you ( and other collectors) are crusing for them too, especially the cool ones. I made the comment with friendly intentions tward you...I see you have quite an inventory which is cool. I have a few myself but I focus on other collections more.are you alternating_bit ? did you get the one from futuretronics @ $150 ? Nate A
Psdiao, I just recieved the player I got from the auction I posted. the seller stated "lightly used in perfect condition"heh, it came packaged in a cracker box, literally a saltine cracker box that had been wrapped in brown paper. the player was in an armband case w/ 3 discs and the other accessories stuffed in around it.I've read several people saying the build quality of the E10 is top notch, but now that it's in my hands,I'd say the shell is awfully thin. very easily dented. in fact this "perfect condition" unit has some dents on the back and the front is pushed in somewhat. I did charge it up and it seems to work fine. sounds great really. but it's a very delicate piece of gear imho. I could easily crush it like a pop can, I'd be suprised if I couldn't fold the entire thing in half without any problem.the seller told me he'd like to buy it back if I didn't want it. concidering I bought it for it's beauty more than just because I needed to play some MDLP discs...I dunno, I could send it back. I'd feel ok if I'd spent about $50 on it including shiping but for $90.00 I'd prefer a less "distressed" unit.if I knew someone who could take the case halves off of it so I could flatten the dents, re-finish the surfaces and reassemble it...that'd be great, but I'm a bit scared to do that myself.I guess my point is, if you've wanted one of these but never had one in your hand, they are nice but very delicate...not the inpression I've gotten from most reviews. psdiao
If you want to open it, look for a service manual. But since it's a screenless unit it should be pretty easy to remove the panels. Just be careful of dust and such landing on the lense when open. After a through look there seems to be more units then I'd imagined, my mistake before was not looking at country specific eBays since they dont come up if you select worldwide and the seller hasnt specified they will post worldwide.Annoyed that I didnt put up an offer in time for the EH1 that was posted on the Audio-T boards, the seller was in Melbourne too. Can't even find an EH1 on Japan Yahoo auctions.
