baturjan
I'm looking for one these, preferably the B100.
Strungup
Baturjan , as I said earlier , the B100 had issues , and isnt built as well as the B10 . Just my two cents worth , If you want stereo you can always connect a Stereo mic , The built in mic records Voice range pretty well , Lectures come out quite crisp and clean .B100 = 2001 , and earlier version of Atrac , plus Mic noise suppression circuitry not yet fully realized B10 = 2003 (entry, and still being produced) Atrac DSP type S and Much better Suppression circuitry I will agree that the B100 LOOKS cooler , but it did have probs Edited September 6, 2008 by Guitarfxr

I've searched a bit online, and only one place came up.I found quite a few , just using google search , http://www.etronics.com/p-54203-sony-mzb10...name=GoogleBaseAmazon and others as well , there was a B100 ( 429 dollars ) twice the price of the B10 http://www.google.com/products?oe=UTF-8&am...0&lnk=qsugthttp://www.egears.net/pd_sony_mzb100.cfmhttp://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-Sony-MZ-B10-MDLP-B...9QQcmdZViewItem ( Brand New NIB)Or if you want a Japanese one , ( The actual display is in English , all the controls are in Japanese ) you could send me the money and I will get a New (not used) one for you . kino170878
A big plus point for the B100 is the remote. It looks like it has *gasp* a TRACK MARK button that can insert tracks at any time.Unless the special remote for the B100 (RM-MZB10) can also be used with the MZ-B10? Then just get the B10. However I have no idea if the B10 would indeed work with that remote.
Strungup
Yes that remote can be used , Only the B10 doesnt come with a remote , The differences are , B100 = 1 AA battery , and much shorter batt life , B10 = 2 AA and 40 hours ( with quick mode off) B100 =comes with the remote but costs twice as much , B10 = All function on the machine ( Speed control on the surface not hidden in menues) B100 = Very sexy looking , and just like most Really hot girls , a lot of trouble , B10= Blue Jean Girl , Likes beer , can go anywhere , and have a good time . for a long time . If the remote can be used with the B10, then I can get the B10 and buy the remote at minidisco, who are still selling just the remote for $20. I wish I had this setup 8 years ago!The only B10 that's in stock of the ones you list is eBay. I was hoping to find one cheaper than $300. I found one on gumtree.com.uk. It's like craigslist. It's been used once, and basically new. He's asking £80 (about $150). However, I don't know yet if the guy is willing to ship to the USA. We all need that . I used to speak 6 languages , but learning Japanese ruined all the others , ( It is the hardest Language to learn ) But now I start to see a LOT of foreigners who were able to get the Collegiate experience as far as language goes , and they are reading and writing Japanese , ( the envy , ohhhh the envy ) Keep it up dude , If I see a used one I will let you know
KJ_Palmer
Another plus point for the B10 (for my money) is the digital pitch control, which lets you speed up/slow down recordings whilst retaining the original 'natural' pitch of the speech or music. Very useful for language applications I should think, though I use it for learning tricky musical passages. Not quite perfect as of course it's done in real time, but probably better than the B100's speed control where you'd get raising or lowing of the tone. Very useful for language applications I should think, though I use it for learning tricky musical passages. Not quite perfect as of course it's done in real time, but probably better than the B100's speed control where you'd get raising or lowing of the tone. When I upgraded from the R55 to the M200, I had achieved a proficiency level in the language I was working in that I didn't need the speed control function. However, I just tried the SpeedCtrl on the M200, slowing down a sentence on my new language that I don't know how to speak yet, and wow does that help to hear the individual sounds and syllables! This is an excellent feature for this application. The tone stays the same. You're right this is another major plus for the B10 for me, assuming the digital pitch control is similar from the B10 to the M200.
KJ_Palmer
Indeed, the speed control is very similar on the B10 and RH1 (same as M200), plus you have dedicated buttons for it on the B10, which is very handy.

KJ_Palmer
Thanks for the link sfbp. I just bought one as well as a spare. Well, it's pay day! Edited April 30, 2009 by Barock
sfbp
Wow, mine just arrived, absolutely brand new. It's tiny. Basically the same as a portable but with a speaker and mono microphone built in, and compartment for 2 AA batteries. Standard red stereo microphone socket and white line/optical socket. Type-S of course, with megabass-like settings (ChrisG you would like this unit!).Can run off wall adapter just fine (not supplied) but will not charge the installed batteries. The socket for foot switch (which I don't have) works fine with a standard MD remote (except that the volume is only controlled by the volume knob on the unit, the one on the remote doing nothing at all). The speaker cuts out as soon as you insert the remote or headphones into the socket (clever!).I like having all the buttons. There's even buttons for erase and erase all. It will be especially nice for taking an off-air recording and trackmarking it, since the unit sits on the desk nicely and has a nice big trackmark button.I'm sure it's intended for speech but with an add-on microphone I bet it's just fine for recording purposes just as the other MDLP portables.Oh yes, one funny thing, more than half the weight of the package is comprised of manuals in:EnglishFrenchSpanishItalianGermanFinnishPortugueseDutchSwedish
KJ_Palmer
Mine came before yours (posted same day), but then again I do live in the UK.. Actually ordered two of them, hoping that this will keep me going forever in MD. Glad to hear that Guitarfxr posted up a good little recommendation of the B10, kind of justifies the expense, if that's needed. If only Sony had made a Hi-MD version, but these little beauties are just about perfect anyways...

Giant_Rick
Oh yes, one funny thing, more than half the weight of the package is comprised of manuals in:ItalianThat's weird, we italians usually have instructions in English, Chinese, Japanese or German, rarely in our language..Btw congratulations on your new 'child'!!
