I've seen today (18th of december) on Canal+ (a French TV) a report of the return of Vinyl LP in a TV show.

The man show us the different technologies since 1970 that are "obsolete now" and finally ends on MiniDisc, then he show us the comeback of vinyl LP.

I like the end of the news when he said (at 16:30 of part 3) : (My traduction is not perfect)

"The most incredible thing : MiniDisc is re-sealing because people doesn't like how MP3 sounds and MD is cheaper " (I suppose he talks about MDLP and NetMD)

I am not sure where you studied french, maybe quebec? I also heard the following ""Sony has informed me that a new HI-MD deck is to appear in the new year, to compete with blue-ray and flash memory based mp3 products recently introduced".

well , because I am on a Mac , and know the tricks , I just downloaded the video , 103 mb FLV file , so I can convert it to QT and klip out the Iraq stuff , just save the Media part .

yep last 5 minute of vid , Celine Dion look alike sitting there the whole vid not saying anything ( What is her French Tongue Tied ??)

See how many MB's the cut out file is when I get done

No, my french is not in default because it's my mother tongue (I live in France). But my english is poor and I translate "as is" and it's approximative.

But I don't know when and where do you hear "Sony has informed me that a new HI-MD deck is to appear in the new year, to compete with blue-ray and flash memory based mp3 products recently introduced". maybe in an other show?...

Being french, I can say that Silly35's translation is totally correct. There is no mention of a Sony HI-MD deck at all.
