Modernaire
That's right! Take a look at the trailer! It's carefully featured at about :38 seconds in on the HD movie trailer! The Ghost Writer - Official Trailer [HD]: (The embedding feature is disabled so the link is the best I can do) Our MiniDisc Lives!

PsychoPimpKiller
Let's sure as hell hope so. It would be nice to have some new life breathed into this amazing device.
Tiesto
I wonder why they used a minidisc instead of a mp3 recorder... maybe they realized the minidisc is a superior tech besides I think the character needs a hard copy of the recording or the minidisc recorder is related as a journalism's device... anyway, it's interesting, a minidisc recorder at 2010 film. Very cool! I must say that the RH1 looks very futuristic in the shot above, more 2020 than 2010. It's the sleek blackness, LED level meters and that stereo mic that do it. We can add this to "The Matrix", "Strange Days" and "Smallville" then. See: http://forums.sonyinsider.com/index.php?showtopic=25305 Incidentally, while researching Sony Walkman DAPs for another thread, I noticed that Sony sort of keep the MD flame alive by listing the RH1 on their website http://www.sony.co.uk/product/paw-minidisc---net-md-walkman
freddyjollo
well they used a minidisc as it looks exotic & sophisticated, especially with the large bulbous microphone? Its un familiar. Dont hold your breathe, I dont think people will even really notice it. Just a James Bond type of gadget?
Syrius
I have that mic, too!
