Sony_Fan
50 views, and $35 shipped is too much? How about $34.99 shipped?

Sony_Fan
the unit does not have an equalizer only mega bass! Considering this unit and the DN430 puts out more bass than Hi-MD units, it's a great feature to have.
THIS SUCKS
no its not i had one before. the bass is overdriven and can be muffled or distorted depending on the music and the headphones.
Sony_Fan
What about here? Thanks. I did the hack but I don't see any treble controls, just bass boost. I'm assuming I have to use a special remote for this unit.
sfbp
Use an "ordinary" remote (LCD) like the RM-38EL. Follow the instructions on p.37 of the R900 manual. Stephen

Stephen Is that the standard MZ-RH1 remote? The link to the hack says you must use a an R900 remote and it's not the RM-38EL.

At the time the hack was written, probably the R900 remote was different from what came before it. It was the first MDLP machine. I tested it today with the RM-38EL. It worked. sfbp
Yes, it is. You've nothing to lose. Almost any remote from any subsequent unit will do, though. The design seemed to pretty much stabilise after the R900.
Sony_Fan
Use an "ordinary" remote (LCD) like the RM-38EL. Follow the instructions on p.37 of the R900 manual. Stephen Hey, thanks Stephen. I was able to adjust the treble controls. The factor settings for treble are 0, but now they can be increased to +3. Do you think these hidden features on my unit would make it sell higher on ebay? Tom in RI
I have an MZ-N505 around here somewhere. This is one of those units that always seems to be available cheaply. IIRC, I got mine off eBay for around $15-$20. Its nice that there is a hack for it but I don't see that raising the value much.
