Aaronkv
Selling my near perfect condition MZ-E10 I bought this when it first came out and never used it much. I was so afraid I'd mess it up by using it and ended up using my recorder more often. This thing is beautiful. It's been dormant for about 7 years. Charged it to see if it worked about 2 months ago and pulled it out to sell it yesterday and it still had 3/4 of a charge and worked great. No scratches and includes everything that was in the box except for the ear buds. Also including about 20 used and new MDs. Some of the MDs have music on them, I'd erase them but my recorder doesn't work. If anyone is interested I'm sure I can fully charge it and see how long it will play music for in the next day or so. If anyone want's more pictures post here too. http://cgi.ebay.com/Sony-MiniDisc-MZ-E10-17-mini-disc-/180700656116?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a129931f4

I'd consider it myself were it not for the fact that you offered to USA only - most of the current posters to this board are actually outside the US, and you might want to reconsider that decision. Just my $0.02 BTW, welcome to the forums.
Aaronkv
I might change my add to open it to Canada. I'm not too keen on the international shipping but if someone wanted to pay for it I probably wouldn't mind. Ebay doesn't let me revise that part, I'd have to email them to do it if there was enough interest. Wasn't sure where this forum was based, was just the first that showed up on Google. I'm charging it tonight and running it tomorrow. Just played a MD I made when I first got it and it brought back memories. I'm a MD geek that's lost his way to the mp3 player, sad I know. Not just joining to hawk my ebay listing. Hoping somebody can get this that really likes them. My first MD was a R55. I loved it.

I live in Vietnam (french) but I have family in California (you are not surprised I suppose) where the MD player can be send to. So if it is OK for you with a Paypal payment, tell me, I will put a bid.
Azureal
I have this same unit and it is very cool. Amazingly small and light, the ultimate in portable MD playback. Mine still charges and runs for a good long time too. Good luck on your sale, I'll be interested to see how much you get for it. It's up to 80 bucks already! So if it is OK for you with a Paypal payment, tell me, I will put a bid. The only form of payment I take is paypal so your good to go! Yes I love California, even with how expensive it is to live here compared to most of this country I'm not leaving. I have this same unit and it is very cool. It's up to 80 bucks already! Yea, taking it out and playing with it a little makes me have 2nd thoughts of selling it. But i really wont use it and enjoy it like someone else would. The thing is beautiful. I'm surprised its up to $80 already. I was just waiting for the last second bidders to come in. So I Charged the MD last night, since I charged it about 2 months ago it said it had 3/4 battery left just from that. I always turned the battery "off" when I stored it. Took 10 minutes to charge all the way. I set it up to play a disc over and over at about 3/4 volume an hour before I went to bed when I was ready for work in the morning it still had 2 ticks on the battery indicator. It's been playing for 9 hours and still was going strong when I left. I'm sure with a couple full charge/discharge cycles the life will only get better. The disc I used had about 65 minutes of SP recording.
Aaronkv
It finally died. It played for 14.5 hours on its first charge. I'd say that's damn good. I didn't touch any buttons or change disks. This was with the controller attached to headphones. All that after a 10 minute charge to get it back to full from the last full charge 2 months ago. It was dormant before that for 7 years. On a separate note. Can anyone tell me why my auction is already over $400? I didn't even pay that much for it new. Is this thing that wanted in the MD community. Not that I'm complaining of course.
Azureal
That is awesome! It is over $400 now. The unit is rare and a prize to own. It is great that you got such a good duration on the playback. I'll have to break mine out and test it like you have done. I would sell it for $400! Maybe I'll post it after yours sells. Apparently these units are rare considering how high the bid is. If only a few were made, or they're hard to find, that will boost up the price even if it surpasses the original cost. The MZ-EH1 (Hi-MD unit) is also rare and expensive.

With the current bid at $560, I highly suggest you insure the package and have signature confirmation where the buyer has to sign for the package in order to receive it and it confirms that he/she indeed received the package. This will prevent a dishonest buyer from falsely claiming, "I never got it" or "it doesn't work" or "its broken." Also, check that the bidders are from the U.S. Some non U.S. bidders may try to sneak in a bid or convince you to sell it to them if they win the auction. Unfortunately, in this day and age, there are many countries where the authorities do not crack down on fraudulent buyers and it's very easy for one of them to place really high bids with the intentions of trying to get their money back and keep the package after they've received it. So get it insured, tracked and get it signed!
Azureal
I completely agree with Chris, this is excellent advice. I have done some business on eBay as well and there are definitely some scammers out there looking to make a buck in any way they can. I suggest you follow that advice for sure. Amazing that it has risen so high, I have seen two other E10 units in the past year that sold for less than $100, looks like you picked the right time to sell! Aaronkv
Thanks for the advise guys. I was planning on Shipping it that way. With insurance/signature required. I think I did list it at the right time. The 2 people bidding back and forth you look at their history one buys old vintage game systems and other old/rare electronics. The other actually bought a e10 before. It sold for a lot less but it didn't have anything but the player and didn't know if it worked. I just got lucky. I was going to be happy with $100. It still has 2 days to go. It's been surprising to say the least.
Sony_Fan
You're up to $660. As soon as you get paid, withdraw the money into your bank account. But it's possible, because the selling price is so high, that Paypal may withhold the money for 21 days until the buyer sends you positive feedback acknowledging that he/she received the package. Aaronkv
Was planning on doing that too. Hopefully there wont be a hold. Most likely will be since I'm a new seller on ebay, been buying since 2001 though. But hopefully not because I've used paypal to sell some of the games I don't use from my season tickets for the past 4 years. The only thing that is weird to me about this listing is the way they are bidding. Out of the 50+ things I've bought off ebay I never bid until the last minute on anything I wanted, especially expensive, and that's usually how I see things run. I was wondering whether or not the bidders are mistaking your unit with the MZ-EH1 (Hi-MD), but your listing clearly shows it is the MZ-E10. So even if they complain later and say, "this wasn't what I thought it was," i don't think you're under any obligation to refund the money. PhilippeC
After some days far from the forum, I come back and open again this topic. I cannot believe it. It is the price of a JA555ES deck ! Yesterday phamcu (the vietnamese electronic ingeneer who repair - at last one - MD decks here in Saigon) told me that he sold his JA333ES for $400 to one of his friend. Even here in Vietnam, a MDS-W1 (hacked to make MD copy simply) is 130$. So $660 for a portable unit ! I missed a MZ-EH1 3 years ago at $210 in a shop, so $660... Pham Cu will sell me next week a lens - $18 - for my not-still-repaired-in-France-JA555ES-deck. Then - if the repair is finally done (I am confused about this), it will be proposed for sell to the forum or on eBay. If not, Pham Cu ask me to bring it (15kg) in Vietnam to repair it (I can see he is already excited about it). Just a funny little story before leaving this topic... This last month, I have been cutted 3 times from Internet due to a "broken" cable. And also cutted from electricity due to a "stolen" cable (electric company asked neighbours to look after cable during night for them as there are many problems with stolen cables right now in all the country). What is funny is that finally Netnam - my internet provider - explained me that the internet cable has not been broken but cutted by the electric company men themselves because Netnam did not want to pay a fee to have the right to hang their cables in the street (2 customers only in the street). So the cable is cutted till they will pay. Let us resume, I am perhaps suppose to look after the internet cable during daylight from any cut by an electric company guy and after the electric cable during night time from any cut by a copper-steal guy I hope that it is clear for eveybody. Therefore, Netnam ask me to... change my Internet provider, better VNPT, the electric company internet service ! Aaronkv
I'm still amazed I got $660 for it. I got paid right away and the $ didn't go on hold through paypal. Shipped it out today, we'll see in a couple days if he tries anything fishy.
