Maybe sfbp know if there is a subtility in record quality between Simple Burner ans SS, but I don't think so. The choice of SP/LP2/LP4 is offered in a little menu close to Net-MD Window in SS. If you have a 74mn blank disc, maximum time will be 4x74mn. There is sadly a real quality difference in SP mode with SB/SS compare to a real time recording, SP sounding like LP2. I personaly advise you to record in real time. Find one of my own topic/post (in my contents / profile) about recording with PC with DFX audio enhancer to get one of your life shock. Test SP / LP2 / LP4 for each of your albums, maybe LP4 will be not be good enough for some of them (DFX could correct that...).
sfbp
For ripping from CD to LP2 or LP4, either software works great. DO NOT make the mistake of assuming it's safe to RIP to WAV/PCM quality using SonicStage, followed by transcoding to a later data rate (LP). It won't sound good. But if you use an independent ripper such as EAC, then you can do just that. For ripping properly (with SS) to a storeable PC format, suggest using Atrac Advanced Lossless. And never go via MP3. BTW, SonicStage always shows the time left in SP (on a legacy-format disk), multiply up if you plan to use LP.
azteka
I dont have Atrac Advanced Lossless only Atrac(246) and PCM Anyway...can someone explain me a method how to put music from my pc(flac) to minidisc at same quality. Thx and sorry for my noobism.
sfbp
AAL is a storage format. Even the devices that claim to play it are simply playing the compressed (lossy) part. If you rip to AAL (just like to flac) then conversion to the format of your choice should go easily. You will have to turn flac to WAV first. I suggest you import WAV to SS, then convert to AAL whence you can a. regenerate WAV if needed b. transfer to MD If you pick the lossy part of the AAL to be 256K (detailed configuration, I am sure you will find it), then this will allow reduction to either LP2 (132k) on MD or almost-direct transfer of the lossy part to HiMD. It's not a good idea to use USB to transfer MDSP (292k) to disk, because the software only gives you half (LP2) quality. If you have a need for SP (such as a car player that is SP-only), recommend you record in real time through the optical input of the MD recorder. My device is net-MD mz-n510 type-S If you record from a digital source or often with analog source and if there is silence between tracks, there will be separate tracks. Then delete this silence afterall is not that simple... You can record from a computer using a player with a no-silence-between-tracks (continuous playing) setting. But, you will have perhaps most of tracks jointed in one big one. So then you just have to use your >> function and the tracks timing list to create your own T marks at the right place listening carefully your MD. There will not be a pause at these T marks. Finally you will be able to edit tracks name. Maybe somebody else has a secret potion to do it faster ?

Sure that wincue will create track marks this way (I use 2" myself and SP mode) but also create a silence.
