Sony_Fan Posted November 24, 2012 Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 Hello. I've tried to record in ATRAC SP on my RH10 using the optical/line input but it will not let me select MD mode. If you are ready to enter it, be prepared for many days of frustration and annoyance, and quite possibly losing your RH10 forever. If I were you I would buy a (cheap) unit for recording SP and then play back on the RH10. Every *other* model will do SP recording. I've seen enough trouble with the second gen machines (actually the RH910 but they should be and probably are, the same) that I wouldn't tinker with it. But if you read that very long thread (with the help of the service manual) you should be able to do what you want. Don't expect sympathy if you brick your RH10, though. Azureal Posted November 26, 2012 Report Share Posted November 26, 2012 Any unit with ATRAC Type-R should be the latest version for SP recording. It looks like the JE530 or newer will do the trick.
