The scourge of minidisc collecting

Like most people, I originally got into minidiscs due to their compact size, re-recording without degradation, editing capabilities and sound quality. For many years I owned a modest amount of equipment (one deck, one portable and less than 100 discs). However about 4 years ago that all changed when I discovered the MDCHANNEL website https://picasaweb.google.com/minidisc.channel

Then my whole world changed upside down. Bizarrely I never knew that all these discs existed (I even went to Japan early 2006). I got my first Maxell Twinkle pack from Chie and then I was hooked. 4 years later (and much poorer) I've managed to amass quite a few discs. While there are discs that I'll never find (Benetton, Kenwood etc) I have to admit I've done pretty well, although it's taken 4 years of collecting to get where I am now. As a collector, when you have an 'ultimate' list it's always nice to discover something new that's not on that list. There's not been that much, but I have a few things to share.

The first thing on the list is Asahi discs. From what I can tell they must have been a promotion as the disc inside is made by Saehan. However the packaging makes it unique and I thought I would share some pics.

hi Zo
I understand you, I am in your same conditions.
I have started to collect blanks when collecting machines, came to me dozens of blanks of different models.
I believe that ending the collection of blanks is almost impossible; many models are very rare and only sold in few countries; even the most common ones were presented in 60 and 74 minutes; many are variations on the same series.
I am pleased to have completed the collection of all BitClub (or at least I hope); I also wrote to the TDK for information.
The same TDK does not have any more info on blank; I checked it after my letter from the area of the TDK, they have connected 20 times to see the blank.
The collection of blank and machines is like a puzzle; with lots of patience we can reconstruct the history of these objects.
The fundamental problem and that from 2003 onwards, the informations are really poor.
A nice day to all
Sergio

Apologies to Zokuchou for the hijack:

I've had an offer (a really, REALLY good one) for one or both of my Kenwood discs. Before I decide what to do, just thought I'd give members an opp to grab em.

Anyone interested??

My value is unimportant - tell me what YOU think :-)

Thanks for listening!
