NW-HD3 backlight hack?

Question

Hi

I have my NW-HD3 set up nicely in my car - held in a cradle, going straight in to the "Aux In" of a Sony stereo, and powered through a simple USB power cable running from my cigarette lighter. As it is not reliant on the battery, I was wondering if there was a service hack to allow the backlight to be left on permanently?

thanks

Even if you could do that, it would just reduce the backlight's lifetime, since those backlights don't last very long to begin with (relatively speaking). I'd say just leave it on to the maximum delay you can.

Why would the backlight not last very long? That doesn't make much sense. I've rarely heard of backlight failures.
